And he immediately goes and scores against Ajax today.

That's it, cancel the transfer. ;)

Did my last message sound overly-heated? If so, I didn't mean it. I just didn't understand why philippe was so eager to quickly kick Rosenberg into the trash. No hard feelings.

But regardless, I totally agree with the analysis of Mr. Venezuela. Very well said.

After the winterbreak, we have : 1-Huntelaar 2-Babel 3-Charisteas Do we need number 4 ? What??? First you say we should sell Rosenberg simply because Huntelaar is on board, and now this is your list? Everyone is entitled to their opinion... I just happen to completely disagree with yours. Ajax does...

Strange. I thought it had been confirmed last week that Vlaar had signed with Tottenham. Whatever, it doesn't matter for Ajax now... on to Landzaat and Kromkamp.

It this is so, we will have to revert to Charisteas and good old Yannis (unless we go crazy and play Rosenberg again). F*ck Yannis, no offence but that pompous fart cant do shit, only good wen we're desperate-and we're not. I perfer Rosenberg, or even Babel in that sense. I don't think Yannis is co...

Soooo, all that talk about Lok, Wotte, and Southampton... umm, yeah, never mind. It was a bit of a smokescreen, a false alarm, and basically, I'm sure it was a case of the media seeing Lok and Wotte leave their positions, seeing Southampton's chairman in Holland last week, and adding two and two tog...

We've been saying we need someone rock solid, someone like Stam. Well, upon agreeing to terms with Vlaar, Jol at Tottenham immediately said that he has now signed the "new Stam."

Who would've thought? ;)

Tying into the above comments of the last couple days regarding Lok and Wotte, here is the latest: Apparently Wotte has said he left Feyenoord due to not just a desire to get back to being a manager, but also because of Huntelaar. He strongly wanted to get Huntelaar at F-word, but when the club woul...

Thanks for your thoughts, Dubbel!

I don't know a lot about either one of these guys, except for what I read in articles, so it's nice to get some insight from people that have a closer perspective of these managers, their histories, their styles, etc.

I don't really know much at all about Wotte (only that he has a so-so record as a manager... nothing great, nothing terrible)... does he really suck?? Why? What's his style like, etc.? The other Dutch (ex)manager that has been interviewed for the Southampton job is Willem van Hanegem (currently work...

My "other club," besides Ajax, is Southampton in England. Southampton is currently without a permanent manager. Media reports over the last couple days in both England and Holland (or so I've been told) state that Feyenoord technical director Mark Wotte is the leading candidate for the job. I consid...

In addition to getting Pienaar, looks like Dortmund have also agreed terms with Amoah from Vitesse. Amoah will move to Germany in January, but this article indicates that Pienaar will not move until the end of the season in the summer.

Vanden Borre would be a great signing. He can play in defense or in the defensive holding midfield role. Kind of like De Jong can play both roles. I'm not saying he's as good as Nigel as of today, but he's only 18 years old, I think, and he's already in the Belgium national squad, so he certainly ha...

Did anyone see the Marseille-Bucharest match? Bucharest needed a tie to advance to the next round. They were behind 2-1, but scored in the very last minute of stoppage time (to even the match and send them through to the next round)... only to have the referee wave it off and say the goal came after...

Interesting discussion, SPL. If this were to ever happen, as someone with an American perspective, I could hypothetically see one potential new outcome. In the major sports leagues here, teams don't pay transfer fees to other teams for players... they trade player for player, rather than player for ...

Liverpool has also won seven league matches in a row, and more impressively, they haven't allowed a single goal in all competitions for the last eleven matches. They're on a bit of a roll at the moment. I still would rather face them than Barcelona or Lyon, but I think Villareal would be my first ch...

As a big Ajax fan in the U.S., I have been a forum lurker for a number of years (yes, even for a long time at the previous forum home site). I've always read about these annual trips and been very jealous. I'm writing now because if the April matches are picked this year for the trip, it just so hap...
