I think they had to buy for the defense, because even Jong Ajax was pretty thin there. But anyone else they buy at this point will essentially be a panic buy and we know how that usually works out.

Hard to see exactly what’s happening with this camera angle but I think they’re playing a 4-4-2 with Bergwijn and Kudus both central and Forbs the only winger. Not sure it’s working because the ball seems to be getting clogged in the middle of the pitch. But they did have a few good chances to score.

That would be fine with me as I don’t rate Taylor or Berghuis, and Klaasen seems to be past it.

Biggest problems were finishing and the Taylor/Klaassen position.

Taylor can’t pass or shoot. 10 sounds like just about the worst spot for him. So you’re probably right and that’s the plan.
