Marko Pantelic
Is it too early to start a thread for this guy?
This is the first thread I've ever started!
In any event, I'm beginning to wonder if, 10 years after Bosman, our board has finally begun to understand the transfer market. Let's hope he has an impact.

The mullett lives !!! I like this move alot. Marko Pantelic is at a point in his career where he'll want to show other clubs that he can still do the business . He should have the bit between his teeth . Here's hoping he can be a productive partner for Luis Suarez , Miralem Sulejmani , etc ...

Is it just my old eyes or is our new player really only Nourdin Boukhari ? They looked so much alike on Sunday it really scared me.

Thanks for posting.Cedric_AeF schreef:Marko Pantelic: Ajax Are Clearly Bigger Than PSV (Goal.com)
I like his attitude, a bit brash, but a nice change of things and what I think this squad needs. Hopefully he can be the missing link, or at least part of a squad that changes things around like he and we'd all like.

Saw about 1/3 of the Serbia-Romania match today. Our boy Marko slotted one home for one of the five Serbian goals as they really thrashed Romania 5-0. Let's hope this carries over to his Ajax matches.

Re: Marko Pantelic
Rumors in Germany are that Hertha Berlin wants him back during the winter as they are currently last and struggling for goals.
I'm somewhat conflicted, I'd rather see Cvitanich get more time, however Pantelic seems to be getting better every match. If Hertha is desperate, it could be a nice chunk of change as we got him for free, but I'd be hesitant to lighten the attack, especially if something were to happen to Suarez.
I hope he stays, though luck Hertha.

Re: Marko Pantelic
Am I wrong in thinking that he has been one of our better buys in recent years? I really like what I've seen from him the last few weeks.

Re: Marko Pantelic
I agree, I've been a bit sceptic about him, but this last month he has really shown some potential, and the hattrick he scored a couple of games ago was brilliant. Seems to me like a much better buy than Sulejmani. I do hope Sulejmani will start to play by his full potential soon though, I know he has it in him.aveslacker schreef:Am I wrong in thinking that he has been one of our better buys in recent years? Re: Marko Pantelic
Good news: Marko Pantelic is expecting to be back with the squad soon, perhaps even in time for NAC on Sunday.
His injury is not as bad as it seemed. The hamstring is reportedly just a bit over-stretched, but not damaged.

Re: Marko Pantelic
Pantelic future unclear
Forward wants long-term deal, but Jol will not break policy
Ajax forward Marko Pantelic wants to sign a long-term contract extension, but manager Martin Jol is not prepared to break his 'over-30s rule'.
The Serbian's current deal expires in the summer and after arriving from Hertha Berlin last summer he is keen to stay at the Amsterdam Arena, however, he may struggle to secure the terms he desires.
Pantelic, 31, wants guarantees over his future in the latter stages of his career and he is understood to want a four-year deal.
The striker, who was linked with Everton and Wigan in the past, insists money is not a motivating factor and claims he could have trebled his earnings in England.
But Pantelic may have reached an impasse with Jol, as the forward told Voetbal International: "They know what I want. The decision is up to the club.
"I have a one-year contract with Ajax. That was not about money because I could have earned three times more in England. This year I accepted the present conditions.
Finances
"But for a longer stay at Ajax I need different terms. The finances will play a role at this stage of my career and I no longer want short-term contracts."
Pantelic, though, is not sure he will be offered the contract he wants and admits he could leave the Dutch giants.
"The question is whether Ajax needs me. It would not surprise me if our partnership ends after this season."
Jol, who is preparing his side for a Europa League meeting with Juventus, wants to retain Pantelic, but, in an identical policy to that which Arsene Wenger implements at Arsenal, is not prepared to offer a player over the age of 30 a long-term deal.
"We would like to keep Marko," said the former Tottenham boss. "But we know we are limited in our negotiations.
"It is also our policy that we only offer long-term contracts to youngsters, not to players who have passed thirty and would probably not generate much transfer money."

Re: Marko Pantelic
Pantelic has told Kicker that he will not be staying with Ajax. He wants a 3- or 4 year deal, Ajax only wanted to give him a 1- or 2 year contract.
He has several offers from England, he said.

he has done well for us but he will be 32 in the summer. I would like to see him for another season but I would not be giving him 2 years . Cannot believe anyone would give him 3 years .

Re: Marko Pantelic
Shame, but I think the club is right on this one. I really like the guy - he's such a positive influence on the team - but the last thing we need is dead weight that can't play much and costs the team even more money in the last two years of his contract.

Re: Marko Pantelic
Ronald de Boer said he was not good enough for Ajax. So I guess it's over for him. I tend to agree with de Boer : Pantelic would not do much if Suarez was not by his side (as we saw in Turin).
Appie, stay strong !
