So no secret number Danny has. I wonder who those goalkeepers can be. Especially when talking about foreign ones. Hans Vonk pops into my mind. I thought he was free now. Kahn? He's free too!

According to De Telegraaf Hans Vonk will be presented tomorrow...

The former Ajax goalkeeper, 38, recently retired at Ajax Cape Town.

Could do worse. He should be fine as a back-up.

AD says we are scouting Red Star Belgrade's 17 yo playmaker Djurcic (sp?). Gerrie Muhren says he's the "next Sulejmani".

I like the sound of Gerrie Muhren's observation of Filip Djurichic. Hopefully Micky Sulejmani's experience in Amsterdam, minus the injury, will be a good selling point for Ajax.

Main question:

Why the hell aren't there any rumours and hot leads that we are buying strong and smart central defenders??

Wake up Ajax.

---------------------------------------
And then a biased post from my side:

We should get (have gotten actually) Petter Andersson.

Groningen just picked him up at a garage sale price and he's doing excellent.

He's strong, he's fast, he can pass and has one hell of a shot. Perfect as a offensive midfielder.

1- an american friend of mine is hoping we are playing possum for standard's gooch onyewu... i told him that gooch was probably beyond our station now

i'm sure they have targets, they're just keeping quiet about it... right? :D

2- i agree, i've seen andersson play many times - i'm guessing that he's not a typical #10, they didn't pay so much attention

i'm still waiting for aissati to get back in

Juventus face Ajax competition for Gremio fullback Mattioni

Juventus face competition from Ajax for Gremio fullback Felipe Mattioni Rhode.

The 20 year-old is a £6 million target for Juve after chief scout Renzo Castagnini recommended his signing after a scouting trip to Brazil earlier this month.

Juve want Mattioni in January as cover for Zdenek Grygera, but must see off Ajax, which are banking on their close relationship with the player's Italian agent, Mino Raiola, to trump the Bianconeri.

Ajax launching bid for Liverpool kid Dalla Valle

Ajax are keen on Liverpool striker Lauri Dalla Valle.

The 17 year-old is regarded as potentially Finland's biggest ever talent and Ajax are offering £750,000 for the youngster, says IS Veikkaaja.

Liverpool have Dalla Valle on a contract to 2011.

I am a bit puzzled with this story about us wanting a kid from Liverpool. He
only joined them a year ago and if he is really promising why would they let him go ?

We are looking at Vitesse's young striker Ricky Van Wolfswinkel.Evidently Fword also looking. The kid is in the Dutch B team this week so is one of the better young prospects.

Rumours in Swedish media that Ajax are mounting a massive bid for Markus Berg. He has even confirmed that he is aware of the interest from Ajax.

Sums mentioned were 150 mill SEK - 14.5 mill EUR.

That is a big ass chunk of money! The kid is good but no Zlatan, Bergkamp, Kluivert or even Huntelaar for that matter. (even if I'm no big Huntelaar fan)

I don't like him. Rather have Wolfswinkel or Arnautovic.

Why the sudden interest in Berg now? There was interest in August at a more reasonalbe price .. €10 million, but €14.5million? That just seems too much...

He joined officially in September 2008. Liverpool are not letting him go, according to the kid's dad, this story is bollocks.

My thoughts to on the Liverpool kid.

As for Berg, should we sign the Groningen scouts thus saving us hugh transfer fees!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we're going green again, i'd rather see us sign one of their central defenders. I like gangrene's six goals against more than Berg's eight goals for.

Headlines states we want Maduro back in January. He cannot get a game at Valencia. It was not a good move for him but why do we want another defensive midfielder? Talk also of Gabri on his way so Maduro in Gabri out! I think I would prefer Gabri to stay.

I thought he found himself too good for Ajax. Anyway, I'm not sure Ajax need a 10 defensive midfielders or so...

Maduro?? Why? I thought he was garbage the last couple months in amsterdam, anyway. Plus, that attitude. Why would we want him back?

Can he play striker now?

The last couple of moths, Maduro was one of the better players. The season before he was worthless. Ajax desperately needs a player in midfield who can be a linking pin between defense and attack. I think Maduro is capable of being that player

I think that the team "togtherness" being developed by MVB would be affected by the "return" of someone who did NOT have a very positive attitude in his last term at Ajax. Gabri, although not always a starter, is someonethat MVB can depend on, already having proved his desire to play when "dropped" earlier in the season!

Keep Gabri .....we don't need another prima-donna....we've almost rid ourselves of them!!

I agree, I would rather keep Gabri than have Maduro back. Van Basten must rate Maduro pretty highly or he must think he can turn his potential into results. We have Enoh as well who has impressed so far this season.

I still don't see why were adding defensive midfielders when we still need defenders.

I think that's beyond doubt - didn't he play him for Oranje before he'd even started a game for Ajax?

Like everyone else here I think I'd rather keep Gabri given the choice. I don't think Maduro is a better player and Gabri always gives 110% for the team, something I definately can't say about Maduro on previous form.
