One of the youth experts on Showtime ,who seems to know what is going on ,says PSV and Feyenoord have approached over 10 youths between them and foreign sides lurk.

What a shambles, 1st team in meltdown and youth academy going down the drain losing players .

We are signing players aged 14 and 15 from Sparta and other clubs .

We did pick up a youth player from Sparta, Marouane Bentaleb a promising central defender who is 15. Youth players still want to come to Ajax for the opportunity to develop. Bouwman, who really impressed me in the Future's Cup and played in one of the last matches for Jong Ajax also signed a contract. Fortunately, he is a right footed central defender!!! I don't think all is bleak with the youth system. One does not expect every player to break through to the first team, just look at all the Ajax accademy players who are with other Eredivisie teams, but if we can see 2-3 come up every year or two, the club will do just fine.

It is difficult being outside the top 10 clubs along with the dross from the EPL who get ridiculous TV money. The reality is we can't keep players for more than 3-4 years if they are any good. This is why I will be cheering for Dortmund tomorrow!!

Ok, it's only U-15 but Jeshurun Simeon got 6 goals against AZ in a 7-2 win. Everyone is talking up the AZ academy, but this is still a Golazzo day. It will be interesting to see how this lad progresses.

Evidently Simeon was born Dec 2009 so Feyenoord and PSV cannot offer him a contract until Dec at the earliest. 10 players may have been approached but we will have to wait and see how many actually leave. Zinhagel was 15 in April and lives in Rotterdam so he is different from youth players who live and were brought up in Amsterdam .

I will post it here but one reason why I cannot understand any youth leaving for Feyenoord is that their Jong side plays in the U21 league and that will continue next season . Their U21 play Twente for the U21 title but Jong Almere and Sparta finished in the top 9 in Div 2 so there will be no play off for promotion relegation.Thats 3 seasons in a row they have not been promoted to Div 2 . 26/27 season is the earliest they could get to KKD .

So much reports on Showtime about youths. We have now taken on 3 brothers from PSV ,the eldest nearly 15 has turned down a contract with PSV

An article about the youth being in a mess says PSV are looking at 2 others as well as Steur and Feyenoord have been offered 5 youths as well as Zinhagel.
He and Steur are still in talks with Ajax so who knows.

So it looks like Steur will sign with Ajax on a three year contract accoring to a news report. Maybe we are all worried when we should not be. I hope that all the senior football staff disarray is over (though one wonders about whether Huntelaar will ever return). Just get the rest of the talents who are eligible for contracts signed up and move on. Jong Ajax could have a decent side next season and I hope they close the gap with AZ!

Yes great news about Steur ,just wait for it to be official.Not sure Zinhagel will leave now as it seems Kroes and co are concentrating on youth contracts.

Youth all playing friendlies today at De T. U16 just played and U17 started. Looking at the players only Zinhagel is missing.Simeon rumoured to leave and Acheampong playing. U19 have 2 games and Johnson is there and Steur will likely play in the 2nd game.Players looking to leave certainly would not be playing today.

Apart from Zinhagel it seems no on else has left other than those we released. Hope he stays then Feyenoord and PSV wont have taken any one.

Reading comments on Showtime today from Youth experts. Zinhagel is leaving and he seems the only one who is going to PSV or Feyenoord . Steur played for U19's in U19 2nd match. If any German side was after a player it would be in the Ajax sites by now.However Ajax need to get these kids under contract.

Zinhagel goes back home to Rotterdam and joins Feyenoord. This is the only youth player we have lost.

So 2 more off to Feyenoord ,the de Koning brothers ,Nick 17,Tim 15 both Mf but the youngest is, along with Zinhagel, the best of our 15 year olds. The older brother is nothing special and we would not have offered him a contract . We are not contracting 15 year olds ,hence some are leaving . Not sure how many 16 and 17 year olds will leave abroad .We are not giving out contracts so I dont blame these kids leaving . Last season Gorter now aged 19 played a lot for Jong and still not contracted.

De Koning bros signed 3 year contracts with Feyenoord. The deadline for transfers of youths under 18 without contracts was last month but transfers with contracts is this monday 15th July . Wont stop them going abroad.

A very comfortable 7-1 win with Unuvar getting 4 .Enjoyed the game,Steur and Messori Mf both impressed but Unuvar's finishing is top at this level.Only 16 and he will start playing for Jong regularly as the season goes on.3 goals in the last 3 mins

I went out for my walk right after it became 4-1. It was a slow start in the game but Ajax really came alive. Unuvar is so quick in the box and gets his shot off fast. The only player I'm not impressed with is O'Neil, just don't understand his choices when he has the ball.

Tomorrow our U17 are home to Feyenoord and its on Ajax tv ie Ajax youtube. Ko 12.00 CET. I do follow this team and looked forward to it but my Arsenal loving son just phoned to say he will bring granddaughter over tomorrow so he can watch Arsenal in peace, so I will just catch the 1st half.

Cannot complain as the other night I missed most of that great win over Feyenoord to look after her. She comes before Ajax!

Meant to post U17 ended 2-2 I watched the 1st half but in the end our U17's got a draw in 98th min. Our U19 drew 2-2 with lowly Sparta . 2-0 up but they let Sparta come back. U19 still top the U19 table.

Just watched the whole match and Ajax lost 2-0 and were very poor especially in MF ,few chances. Messori on the right wing looked ok ,Bounida starting to show his class but not so much today and V d Pavert looks promising . Appiah only played 30 mins and was good going into Mf more.

Ajax were top of the table going into today but with PSV and Feyenoord to play I dont think they will stay top
