Really ? I checked for you.

Ajax in Eredivisie, before Suarez was sold (so before late january) :
20 games, 39 goals (38 points) => 1.95 goals/game
5 games in which Ajax scored 3 goals or more (25%)
After Suarez was sold :
8 games, 17 goals (17 points) => 2.1 goals/game - 2.1 points/game
3 games in which Ajax scored 3 goals or more (37%) (and those 3 games were played without El Hamdaoui !)

In both case, that's crap anyway...

Numbers don't always tell the truth. The fact is that quality players such as Suarez and the lesser Hamdaoui can take teams by the hand and win trophies, even though a team might have 1.95 goal/game... That is what we lack now. A star...

There's a number that never lies and that's the number of points. And in this case, it wasn't better this season when Suarez was still at Ajax. It's a thing to have quality players, it's another one to let them perform in the team -when they are not suspended for silly behavior of course...

Thats what I mean. With suarez in the team, you could rely on his individual magic to get you out of a goal drought. More than 8 out of 10 situations

Yeah they got on his back after his first mistake (can't remember what it was -- did he lose possession with a bad first touch?). Pretty daft.

They were on his back the moment his name was read out before the start.

It seems the El Hamdaoui will not play this crucial game. He still is our topscorer this season. I'll keep good memories of him, back from the Suarez days.

I dont know what he'll be remembered for.... Maybe with a player like suarez next to him providing the ball better, he might have scored more.

Galatasaray, perhaps...? There are some rumours and it is also reported that Ajax are willing to talk.

Just saw a tweet from Ernst Bouwes that El Hamdaoui is transfer listed. I guess this is not a big surprise.

I think he was referring to Frank de Boer at Schiphol Airport, just prior to departure for the U.S.

De Boer said: "If a club is interested, we will be co-operative and try to find a solution."

Which is not entirely the same as 'transfer-listed' (as in: must leave), but Ajax are indeed willing to sell. Galatasaray are said to be interested. Should not be too difficult to get rid of this guy, as he was relatively cheap (5 million, I think), he wasn't a 'Sulejmani'.

By the end of the season he was a total waste -- sooner gone, the better.

Maybe we're better without him, and him in another club. Nevertheless, facts are stubborn things.
Only four players ever scored as many goals as El Hamdaoui in one league season : Schoenaker (79/80), Bergkamp (88/89), Pettersson (88/89) and Ibrahimovic (2003/04).
No Ajax player ever scored more than these 13 goals in one season league games.
