Once again the English version of Ajax.nl didn't publish separate match reports of the Fortuna and Bielefeld games, but a report that summarizes the whole Germany training camp. We added a link to the story to the Arminia Bielefeld match report. The Ajax.nl report can be found here:

Less than an hour and I'm leaving for the airport for the flight over to Amsterdam. Can't wait for Friday, my birthday, the CL draw and Ajax v Arsenal all in one day - Can't be bad, now if someone can just arrange for a 4-0 win to half compensate for the 0-4 last time I was at the Arena then that would be perfect.

No no, everything's fine. The thing is that I had forgotten that the Tournament was this week end. This is the good thing about checking forums every day : there is at least one people that keeps games in your mind.

There actually are three games of football during the Open Day: Young Ajax vs AFC (2-0), Ajax-1 vs FC Omniworld (now being played) and in the morning at De Toekomst... 'Lucky Ajax' versus an All-Star Team of sponsors and Dutch TV personalities. 'Lucky Ajax', the infamous and nototrious 'party team' of former Ajax players, won by the score of 5-1.

1-0 Stanley Menzo (who played as Lucky Ajax's #10 today and opened the scoring with a beautiful chip over the goalkeeper...)
2-0 Dick Schoenaker
3-0 Alfons Groenendijk
3-1 Humberto Tan (presenter of NOS Studio Sport)
4-1 John van den Brom (on an assist from... his assistant, Alfons Groenendijk)
5-1 Alfons Groenendijk (penalty)

The Young Ajax coaches kicked some major butt there: three goals between them! :D

According to the EersteDivisie.info website Ajax will play First Division side FC Haarlem in a friendly on Wednesday 11 January. The game will reportedly be played at Haarlem Stadium, kick-off 20:00.

We will wait for confirmation from Ajax and then add the fixture to the Ajax USA matches index page.

The first participant for this summers LG Amsterdam Tournament has been announced (well, the second one really, as the first one - of course - is Ajax). In the first weekend of August 2006 Manchester United will play at the ArenA. Read the following report on the English version of Ajax.nl (which is also up as a news link on Ajax USA):

Great news for Per: on 15 February Ajax will play their second ever friendly against the mighty FC Fairy Tale Forest (FC Sprookjesbos) in children's theme park De Efteling! And we will publish a match report!

For those of you who can't remember... the first friendly between the two sides was a traumatic experience for Ajax, as they suffered a 15-0 defeat. This was on 15 April 2004:

It seems like there will be no match report of this fixture after all, for the simple reason that there is no report on Ajax.nl or anywhere else. Ajax.nl has a video of the game, but no written report. And there were a few very short announcements in the papers, but that's.

What I can tell you is that we lost again, although it was a very close shave this time: 6-7. Just like last time some of the referee's calls were a bit questionable, to say the very least. For example: Ajax were outraged when the Big Bad Wolf picked up the ball with his hands and threw it into Ajax's goal. In spite of furious protests, the goal stood. The referee's explanation: wolves have paws (not hands), so they can impossibly make a hand-ball. They have four legs (no arms) and - just like humans - they are allowed to score with all of their legs.

Makes sense and in my opinion it is that type of ignorance that explains why Ajax are having such a stinker this season. They are just too naive and not capable of adjusting to unusual situations!

Maduro was interviewed after the game and he seemed devastated.

Anyway - it all ended in tears. Again. Ajax's string of wins (umm, is two wins a string...?) has come to an end and FC Fair Tale Forest still have a 100% score against Ajax. Embarrassing.
