i had the same issue with my 08 shirt, (i think it was 08) had sneijder on the back! haha love it... but anyway, i only wanted the sleve patches as we had won the league three times in a row. i used to buy every shirt every year, now i refuse to pay the ridiculous prices.

I knew the TV revenue difference between the EPL and Eredivisie was great but the fact that an individual English club receives over five times the revenue of the entire Dutch league shows why things are difficult and will continue to be so.

Ajax have lined up Ziggo as the shirt sponsor starting next season. They are the largest cable television company in The Netherlands. Unfortunately revenue for the sponsorship will only be €8M/year which is €2M less than Aegon are paying right now.

Evidently Fword supporters are not happy and cancelling their subscriptions with Ziggo.

We may get the extra 2m a year as that amount was shown as possible add ons. Evidently the youth teams are to get a seperate sponser and 3m euros pa is mentioned.Decent work by V d Sar.

Would be good to bring back ABN Amro, cos I prefer the sponsor logo running down the red rather than across it.

Well it's all sausage to me as they say. I'm not even sure who our current sponsor is, I like the sponsorship-free shirts like the AS Roma one and Vitesse's for a while, and that's the only way I'd ever buy an Ajax one.

I too liked the AMBN Ambro running down the red and not across.

I'm with you 100% on that -- it's ridiculous (to say nothing of disrespectful) to make the shirt a billboard. Now, to add insult to injury, some clubs are even putting a second sponsor on the seat of the pants. Is there any other major sport that humiliates itself in this way? If they have to have a shirt sponsor for the revenue it brings, it should be limited to a small logo -- with the logo being no larger than the club badge, and also not in the center of the front of the shirt.

I have never heard of Ziggo before . Last night the wife was looking up Neil Diamond concerts and she saw he was in Amsterdam next June and said he was at the Ziggo Arena and started looking it up. There was a groan from her when I said they are Ajax's new sponsers and its right next to the Arena. At least we both now know who Ziggo are.

Not sure if anyone is interested but subside sports... (had lots from them, big company, generally good) have our away shirt on sale for £34.99 all sizes available. You can also add a name and number for £10. Considering its £59.99 most other places, its considered a bargain!

Let's be pragmatic about this.
Without the sponsorship deals we will fall even further behind the EPL clubs.
The only way then is to go the way of Vitesse and sell out completely.

Absolutely! I'm just saying I personally don't want to pay 40€ + to do the sponsor's advertising for them.

I think Roma are the only big club left that does not have a shirt sponsor. Anyone know of another example? I know Barca held out for a long time but did have unicef on the shirt front until Qatar ponied up lots of €s.

i meant to post this up on Friday but didn't get around to it, but our new kits have been leaked.

New home looks alright, more like times of old.. bit thinner red block, solid red round neck, but still the three stripes.

Away kit is what i can only describe as flurescent lime green!

About our away shirt disasters.

I think these were quite ok actually: the centenary one, the post centenary one, the black and pink one.

I do think this year's one is abit too "far out of left field" for me.
