Van Basten would be a disaster... Another Cruijff marionet...

Louis van Gaal, Co Adriaanse, Foppe de Haan or otherwise a foreigner (Mourinho? Laudrup?).

I want a manager. An intelligent, eloquent person with a vision. A 'schoolteacher type'. Not just someone we have to believe in only because he was once a great player.

As much as I think Wenger is a total pratt (and at times a huge cry baby) I agree. Someone with his understanding of the game and ability to build a strong squad would be a great asset...question is who?

I think I know what Ko means. It's not so much a problem with Cruiyff (or anyone else). As already discussed on here, if Cruiyff has all the answers for Ajax (or Barca/Oranje) then why doesn't he put his money where his mouth is and come and do the job himself...?

We want a coach who's his own man and not a puppet of anyone - and I agree, MvB is too much in awe of Cruiyff not be that puppet.

fans protest against Jaakke

Steve Staunton will be looking for a job very soon. :biggrin.gif:

But more importantly, from an Ajax point of view, that means the FAI are in the market for a manager and might go after Adriaanse. But the FAI aren't very good at making decisions so I wouldn't worry too much.

To all the dutch-speaking people of these fine boards:

Please, try to provide a quick summary of all the links or snippets in dutch that are posted here if you have the time. I can gather a few phrases but I'm far from being fluent as it is probably the case for lots of people on the english zone of AjaxTalk. Most of the time those links are useful and interesting and they obviously add value.

Thanks :anew.gif:

If AZ will continue to play like that, there's chance that Van Gaal can be fired. If it happens, (although i don't think it's very realistic) should we go for him?

Whether we'd go for him or not, I actually don't think he'd come back. Didn't he say as much the last time he left after he fell out with the Cowman?

True, but I just get the impression as well that he might have had it with returns. Remember what happened at Barca the second time...?!

Anyway, time will tell. I'm certainly happy to give AK til the end of the season.

I agree. I'm hoping (perhaps unreasonably so) that Koster turns out to be a diamond in the rough. I don't think van Gaal would leave AZ before the end of the season anyway.

I'm not saying he'd come back, but after the UEFA Cup qualifier win he was interviewed (straight after the match on the pitch) and he said one sentence about AZ qualification, and then talked about his great disappointment at the Ajax result.

I think his heart will always be there, but the bridges are burnt with the current board....

Yesterday Paddy Power (an Irish bookmaker) had an odds list with about 50 candidates for the new Ireland manager. Adriaanse wasn't even on it.

This morning Adriaanse has come from nowhere to fourth place on the list, at odds of 14-1.

Could be the bookmakers stirring up some shit or there might be something to it.

Martin Jol has just been fired from Tottenham (he's being replaced by Juande Ramos from Sevilla). I know most people here aren't in favor of Jol's potential appointment at Ajax (including me), but now that he's officially available, thought it should be mentioned here as I'm sure the press will now start linking him even more to a move to Ajax.

Yep, apparently before the Getafe game which I just watched on TV. It was quite bizzare really as news got out during the game so the whole crowd were cheering for even though Spurs were awful. Great 2nd goal by Getafe btw

On SKY this morning they talked to Valentyn Driessen of De Telegraaf.
Asked if Jol would take over in the summer from Marco he said no as the Dutch FA have evidently indicated that the next coach will have to have International experience. MARCO IS HEADED FOR AJAX.

Asked if Jol will go to Ajax he said no. There were lots of rumours but he had heard from inside that Jol will not get the Ajax job.

Basically this guy(KO will tell us more about him)is saying Marco will be our next coach.

Given a choice I would not want Jol.I think we will be getting Marco back !!
