True, because Eredivisie Live is showing Europa League semi final Valencia - Atletico Madrid they changed the channel to show the overtime. I'm glad with this win, playing in the senior Dutch cup is always a good experience for our youngsters.

He's too fast to be like Siem de Jong. He's more a Marc Overmars type, although he is more involved in combination football than in wing running.

A few new names. A number of last season's team will show up here again as de Boer brought some to England for those friendlies to give them some experience. It will be interesting to see who stays in the 1st team. Boilesen went went with the team but is still unable to play. I've only seen Dijks play a bit but I like him. Looks like Fischer is a good bet to stick also.

Good to see Blind 3 and Dave on the ball reporting on Jong team

Jong Ajax lost 3-1 to Roda yesterday and then lost the tournament on a penalty shoot out with Roda. Gravenberch scored our goal.No line up listed for this game but Roda played their 1st team squad.

Looking at the team listed in Dave's posting I would point out Gava is Romanian trialist and V D Molen, de Visser, V Zoolingen, de Groot and Vellema are all from the Ajax Saturday amateurs.

The previous week they had a training camp in Zeeland with wins against local teams Oostkapelle and Goes. That squad contained 2 Saturday amateurs, 3 trialists , Gava plus another Romanian and a Slovak, neither of whom had their trials extended ,plus an A2 youth V Duin.

I am not sure why more A1 youths are training and included in these warm up games rather than Saturday amateurs. No problem with trialists though and Gava a striker may stay for a week or 2.

At present there are 14 contracted Jong squad players as follows

goalies: Schmitz and Kramer

defenders: Busse, Nieuwpoort,Schenk,

midfielders : de Kamps,Sporkslede,Boccara, Bonevacia, Rits

forwards de Sa, Arica ,Gravenberch, V Kessel

Of the above Bonevacia is to be loaned out and Zwolle tried and failed to do so last week. Rits is the only one who has not taken part in any of the 4 pre season games to date as he is injured,back injury I believe. Gravenberch is an A1 youth and still eligible for the youths this season but appears to have been promoted. I quess it will be the end of August before the squad is sorted out .

Boerrigter played the 2nd half in place of Sulejmani . Eriksen and V d Wiel played an hour each with Nieuwpoort and Bocarra replacing them.Not a good start but more a warm up for the first teamers not used v PSV .

well we lost 2-1 to Jong Az .Sulejmani in fact was not involved tonight. Apart from V Kessel the only other sub used was Gravenberch for Boerrigter after 60 mins.

Van Kessel scoort vijf keer bij 0-8 zege Jong Ajax op Jong Brabant

Jong Ajax heeft donderdagavond de vriendschappelijke wedstrijd uit tegen Jong Brabant met 0-8 weten te winnen. De nieuwe Jong Ajax spits Gino van Kessel scoorde maar liefst vijf keer. De overige treffers kwamen op naam van Sporkslede, Bonevacia en Boccara. Van de A-selectie van Ajax kwam verder alleen Ebecilio in actie. Sulejmani kwam opnieuw niet in actie.


Van Kessel scored five times in 0-8 win at Ajax Young Brabant

Ajax has the friendly match Thursday night against Young Brabant managed to win 0-8. The new Ajax striker Gino van Kessel scored five times. The other hits came in the name of Sporkslede, Bonevacia and Boccara. A selection of the Ajax came only Ebecilio further action. Sulejmani was again not in action.
