Not confirmed by Ajax.nl yet, but what the hey, this is a done deal.

AZ midfielder Demy de Zeeuw is to join Ajax. We paid 7.5 million euros for him and he will sign a four year deal.

who knows..if he has chosen this number maybe it means that 4 and 9 are still free for a defender and a goalscorer?

So it's official now. Surprised, but satisfied with this move. Only thing that disturbs me, is that knee injury..

After giving it some thought i must say that a Enoh-De Zeeuw-Aissati midfield looks very promising in a 4-3-3....you can add Urby on the left if its a 4-4-2 and it still looks very good.... :ajaxscarf.gif: :ajaxsmiley.gif:

Welcome aboard, Demy. Not sure why we bought you, but welcome aboard anyway.

Suárez was the official 'Man of the Match' yesterday, but my personal 'MotM' was Demy de Zeeuw. He's getting better and better and is already a key player in this team. His tackling, his forechecking, his thru-passes, his long balls, his fighting spirit... I have to say I'm impressed and if he can score a goal every now and then (like he did yesterday) then he can become a really 'Big Ajacied', if you know what I mean.

Keep it up, Demy!

It's hard to tear myself away from the old school 4 - 3 - 3. That said, I really enjoying watching Demy de Zeeuw and , to a lesser extent , Eyong Enoh add some major bite and toughness in the center of our midfield . Demy de Zeeuw has heart , toughness , work ethic , and a whatever it takes ethic that is really enjoyable to watch . I was wishing ESPN 360 had Demy Cam yesterday. He was everywhere. Definitely my MOTM . His goals are a plus. On the subject of goals , I was checking out the Het Fluitsignaal match thread yesterday .Someone pointed out that fourteen different players have scored this year...all competitions I'm guessing. So, Demy's goals are a bonus .

That was probably before Pantelic scored, as I count 15 players (in 12 games). From the usual starting lineup, only Enoh and Stekelenburg haven't scored yet. Maybe that can be a new challenge for our keeper, as he must be bored now his defense does the job. :smile-ajax.gif:

Two cracking goals today...

If he continues to score goals regularly, this dude's really developing into a fantastic midfielder...

Undisputed MotM today against Heerenveen.

Whahahaaaaa *LOL* This is classic!

We have a show on Dutch TV called Wegmisbruikers ('Road Hogs', kind of), which follows a police highway patrol. In last night's show one of the cars they pulled over belonged to a "a midfielder of the national football team, who had just lost the Johan Cruijff Shield to FC Twente".

150 km/hour where 100 was the speed limit. Not bad, Demy.

Here's the video!

"How was the game?"
- Hmmm, not good. We were down to ten men after forty minutes.

Hahahaha.

Good thing they blurred his face for reasons of privacy. :smallgrin.gif:

(Seriously, I think people have to grant their permission for TV usage... Does that mean Demy gave his permission for this??)

I think they can use the footage as long as the person has been made unrecognisable.

They blurred his face, but by giving that much information everybody knows who he is.

Lol-he's lucky to be Dutch-TV is full of those programmes here and you can always tell who is innocent as they are the only ones with blurred out faces-everyone else is shown in full glorious colour

He's lucky: the police say he was driving 49km/hour too fast. For 50 you lose your license (and they seize the car, until someone with a valid license comes picks it up).

I checked the fines on the internet. This will cost him approximately 300 euros.

if my dutch is correct, demy has experienced some sort of black spots in front of his eyes following headers during training on saturday. neuropsychiatrist is calling it brain trauma, possibly as a result of his world cup incident when he gor kicked in the head, and is recommending he stop playing until they know more. hopefully nothing serious

This can be quite serious and result in the end of career. My hometown club has lost three players over the years because of concussion syndrome; two of them were forced to retire and the third was never able to play up to his former ability. I too hope it's not serious but it is troubling that the symptoms are persistent. When he returns, he may need to wear the kind of protective headgear that Chivu wears.

This sounds rather worrying. Get well soon, Demy !
