Here's the long overdue Viktor Fischer thread!

I read that there were two Real Madrid scouts on hand at the ArenA to scout Viktor Fischer . Here's hoping he and his agent realize what a graveyard that can be at this stage in his career .

Having said that, yes, he'll no doubt move eventually for more money, hopefully in several years...

Sorry for the slip MP I do not belive any club is bigger than us just richer although they all owe millions. I would expect a lot of scouts to watch him but he has chosen Ajax to develop at . Even when he signs an extension I think we are going to get rumours all the time.

ajaxsites today all say he wants to extend asap.A very level headed boy, if he was money mad like most young kids he would have joined Man C or Chelski back in 2011. He will just
stay and continue to learn from Bergkamp!!

Report today he is currently earning between 130,000 and 200,000 euros pa but is to be offered 700,000 pa and is likely to sign to 2016. Would like to see him sign longer but by the summer of 2015 I predict he will be gone and we will be 20m euros richer. I just think we are lucky that the likes of Eriksen and Fischer chose to join us when much richer clubs wanted them.

We have to accept that such players will only be here for 3or 4 years and we can then get 15m plus for them.Its not the way to build a team but then again we cannot match the wages of other countries like England,even if all the english teams are in debt.

Yes SPL, it's the same story again and again... Hopefully he will give us more klassikier moments!!!

I think the club has a cap on salaries so that nobody will get paid over €1M which is prudent given we cannot always count on CL payments. It's too bad but reality. I don't even think the Platini reforms (if they ever fully take effect) will do much to change the situation for Dutch football. There is just not enough television money that can come in.

not yet official but report today says he has agreed to 2017 ,which if true is great news.We would not have to worry about an extension until the middle of 2015.

Here's hoping De Telegraaf is right for once. Another three seasons with Ajax and leaving in summer 2016 is about the best we can hope for these days.

Great news he has officially signed to 2017 when he will be 23. Even if he goes in 2016 and only has 1 year left we will still get a big transfer fee ,if he develops ,and I use the word IF. He has a long way to go but has said yet again he has chosen the right club to develop with .

Wonderful young player. Lots to learn but he's a great fit with our club. Great signing, hope he will enjoy his stay and leave us as a CL winner.

So, you have to take 'football analytics' with a grain of salt, but our mate Viktor turns up near the bottom of both the goalscoring and passing performance charts for the first half of the eredivisie season.

Let's hope he proves the stats wrong in the rest of the season... starting with a hat-trick on Sunday!

FdB announced that Fischer's season is likely to be over. The hamstring tear was quite bad and he's some weeks before he can even start training.

Just as well that we're out of Europe...it's nice to bring the youngsters through, but this season it seems as though they're being almost forced through!!!

Viktor is going to be operated. That means no summer training and probably returning around September. NOT the news I'd like to read about him and his 3rd potential full season with us...

That's bad news, Fischer is a player with game changing abilities despite his sort of lackluster season before going down injured.

Wow - I was thinking about the squad for next season and saw that Fischer had to have surgery, as was mentioned above. Never have heard of hamstring's needing surgery. Wow, must have been really bad.

According to FdB, Fischer will not be able to play until the 2nd half of the season. The hamstring injury was far more serious than thought and the surgery to repair it complicated. Hope he can be fully fit with this long layoff.
