Now he is gone the Supervisory Board should all go ,after all they made this terrible appointment. The transfers this summer seem a potential disaster. Some over paid and all given 5 years.

Steijn does not have a clue but I dont think he was consulted on signings .We cleared up last summers mess this summer with just Bergwijn and injured Kaplan left from last summers signings.

Will take 2 or 3 years for us to recovery from Mislintat's mess.

Yeah some of the transfers indeed are real head-scratchers. I think the top of the disaster signings truly is Steijn. Like WTH did he ever see in him?

Apparently Steijn has lost faith in his job, but is waiting to get fired and won't quit by himself. That gets him a 3M severance payout.

So much drama while I was off in synagogue doing a lot of choral singing. In retrospect, Ajax would not have done any worse by keeping Heitinga and moving Huntelaar up to interim technical director until the Supervisory Board could properly sort things out and figure out the best path forward. Lots of names being put forth and some have already rejected a role (van Gaal and Molejnaar among those). I see that Jordi Cruyff is mentioned and I wonder if he would really want the job given his father's legendary status with the club. Ajax do need to figure out how to get Kroes on board sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, the club has spent a lot of money on what appears to be a bunch of marginal players who all have five year contracts. Ajax will be lucky to recover 25% of all the €s that were spent by stupid Mislintat.

Ajax only seems to thrive when there is a single-minded type of guy in charge. Michels in the 70’s, Cruijff in the 80’s, Van Gaal in the 90’s and Ten Hag recently. You also could add Frank de Boer to that list, but he was not a tactical mastermind like the others were.

Those guys are in total control and don’t take shit from players or press. All others will get drawn into unnecessary fights in the press and backroom gossip. In my view there is no solid organization at Ajax. There is always somebody who will stab someone in the back. You used to have the Cruijff vs Van Gaal camps fighting each other. Now it seems that rivaling player management bureau’s are deciding the faith of Ajax.

It doesn’t matter who is on the board or in management. The only thing that makes or breaks Ajax is the skill of the manager of the first team. And he needs to resist the different ‘camps’ within the club.

It is a screwed up organizational chart primarily because it is publicly traded and they have to have a Board of Directors that is responsible to the shareholders. There is a whole separate Board that manages the football related issues such as hiring the GM and technical staff that runs the team on a day to day basis. When Overmars departed, van der Sar did not move to fix this aspect of the organization and we screwed up two consecutive summer transfer periods. Other than Misehouy, all the promising youth players have either received initial contracts or extensions so at least that part of it has been done properly. They have also continued to recruit youth players.

V D Sar not signing an experienced TD after Overmars has been the no 1 problem.Last summer was bad enough but this summer has nearly destroyed us. At least we finished 3rd last year, we will be lucky to finish 5th this season.

Football advisor to the Supervisory Board is Louis van Gaal . I welcome this , he and Van Praag can only be good for Ajax.Get a proper TD preferably with Ajax DNA and who knows what Ajax requires.

Apparently he dropped a couple of names, like Blind, Bergkamp en Ten Cate. Don’t know if that’s true. But at this stage, anyone but Steijn will get better results. Ten Cate and Blind are not for the long term. Bergkamp is relatively young but never acted as manager.

The rebuilt has to start today. This season is already lost. We have to be ready for the next one. Maybe Ten Hag when he gets sacked by United.

I remember when Bergkamp was an assistant to Frank de Boer. He always looked like a zombie when the camera panned to him during matches. I could never figure out what his role was and of course he was partly responsible for Wim Jonk leaving Ajax. After the shake up following de Boer's departure, Bergkamp disappeared and AFAIK he has not done anything since leaving Ajax. I don't want to se ten Cate or Blind Sr. any where near Ajax. Both were failed managers.

Bergkamp did always look dazed and confused. I think that was mostly because of the shocking squad which we had under FDB. Lol.

Ten Cate and Blind are not going to be much better than Steijn really.

John van't Schip is a temporary technical director and seems like he will be in charge of transfers for January with Huntelaar and Louis V Gaal.

Not sure how many they can bring in as we need to unload about 5 or 6 first. Bergwijn can go to Saudi Arabia.

Approximately 10% of coaches that started the season will be fired by Christmas. One man's garbage... And then there are leagues like the Scandinavian ones that end in December. Will it help? We can only hope.

According to Mike Verweij Van Gaal wants to bring Marijn Beuker the current sporting director of Queen's Park Rangers and formerly at AZ to come to Ajax.

Did we all miss a memo about us looking at 2nd division sides for all future hires/transfers?

Very sad news indeed. He's going to be in no frame of mind to help Ajax in any way, nor should he. Needs to take care of himself and his family.
