Now an unwanted U19 leaves, Schon 18 year old Hungarian winger ,contract to June 2019, has had his contract terminated and leaves. Had injury and never played regularly.The only foreigner left with U19 is 3rd choice goalie Polish Gorski and he will leave in the summer when his contract is up as he never plays.

U17 1-0 up at Ht enjoying watching the game,Zamani scored.

U19 won 5-3 in PSV We were 3-0 up went back to 3-3 before late goals to win the game.

This is a very young side all the scorers are really U17 players. Brobbey ,17 yesterday, 2 goals , the others Taylor 16,Unuvar 15 ,Eddine 17 last month.Hansen only 16 played.El Maach and Dest both played but all the others are still 17.

U17 finished 1-1 gave away a poor goal ,a cross to an unmarked player with an open goal in front of him.

Without Unuvar very little creativity in the side with Hoogenwerf playing striker the only standout player.All 3 subs are defenders and we finished with the 2 wingers taken off replaced by fullbacks. One of the fullbacks had a great chance but put on the roof of the net.

We are signing a 16 year old Danish right winger called Christian Rasmussen from Nordsjaelland.He joins in July on a 3 year contract. We have lots of Dutch talent coming through the youth but few wingers.(report on Ajaxshowtime quotes he is a right winger)

This kid has cost us 3m same as Jensen .We pay 3m for 16 year olds from abroad but when 16 year olds leave Ajax we get about 100,000 training fees.This seems daft !!

the only kids we pay real money for are Danish aged 16 or 17. We have paid money for Johnsen and Pereira but both were 18 and had contracts.Dont remember paying 1m plus for any other 16 year olds.What is different about signing Danes?

We have never got more than training fees for our 16 year olds going abroad and I dont recall any of the 16 year olds leaving Feyenoord or PSV for abroad raising more than training fees.

PS.Hopefully Overmars is making sure our best kids coming up for 16 are soon contracted.Unuvar not 16 to June but Hoogewerf and defender Rensch both about to be 16 this month and need to be signed up. These are the best of this years 16 year olds.

Certainly Eriksen has been the best of the lot. Fischer was promising until he hurt his hamstring and had to have surgery to repair it; he lost quickness as a result. I thought Boilesen was promising but as with most of our left backs, he could not defend. Dolberg is good. Were all of these 17 year olds when the came to Ajax?

Eriksen was 16 ,Boilesen ,Fischer Dolberg ,Andersen all 17 .I believe in Denmark you can sign contracts at 15 .Of these Danes Eriksen and Andersen cost 1m,The others less.

This probably accounts for why we nearly always pay transfer fees for Dane's and not other nationalities.

The Dutch kids leaving Holland aged 16 and 17 did not have contracts hence training fees only.

So I think I have answered my own question. Still think paying 3m plus for 16 year olds is way too much.

Apparently Madrid paid 4million for Odegaard. I always thought they ended up paying a lot more than that.

Odegaard was rated the best 16 year old in the world at the time ,our 2 current Danes costing 3m each are not world rated talents at present. Had we paid 1m each no problem but we lost out on Lainez over 3m so we blow it on an unknown kid .

Jensen coming up 19 doesn't appear a great talent but cost 3.5m and contracted to 2023.

I note the Dutch lads are debating this 3m being spent.

Watched our u19 win 3-1 Brobbey Unuvar and Dostanic scored.Then went and saw my local team win 9-1 so a good afternoon.

Enjoyed watching our U17 beat Feyenoord easily 4-1 .The goal against came from a counter and our goalie was way out the penalty area. As the U19's are not playing today Salah-Eddine ,Unuvar and Hansen all played .

U19 home to Sparta today 14.30 CET its on Ajax TV youtube channel. Hope for a decent win .During the week they only beat amateurs Alphense Boys 2-1 in the cup quarter finals with a last minute penalty.

The U19 game was shown on YouTube. Pretty much of a cakewalk for our guys. The ball was very rarely in our half of the field. Some very nicely set up goals. Kenneth Taylor looks to be the next Frenkie.

Yes Cruijff, I am 45 times more interested in our youth than any EPL result. You have to be an Ajax fan to realise why youth is so important. I would rather be at de Toekomst on a Saturday watching U17 or U19 than at any EPL game.

Some very good prospects in our U19 ,I too like Taylor and Unuvar looks very good for a 15 year old.

This week we play Lyon in the last 16 of the U19 CL Youth competition so yesterday we had Jensen and Kuhn plus Dest and J.Timber all in action.They are now Jong Ajax regulars but will play at Lyon hence they were playing yesterday.

Thanks for the link cruijff ,watched 20 mins so far but unimpressed with Ajax. ter Heide and Nunnely both over age and very limited sad we include such players when Taylor and Hansen both regular U19 are not .Taylor is a sub but Hansen dropped and plays for U17 tomorrow.Q.Timber is suspended he too is a regular.

I thought youth was for development of players and not just winning at all costs so hope we win this game otherwise Heitinga will be criticised.

I just caught the last 20 minutes. Unimpressed with Ajax as the ball movement was quite poor. Brobey got a lucky goal in extra time when Ajax were down to 10 men. Lost in penalties. I honestly don't know why players do all that stutter step stuff. Just have confidence and hit the ball firmly; make the keeper do his job. Ajax had a chance to win it on the fifth kick but missed.
