It works for me...

The jersey looks quite a bit like the 1999-2000 Umbro one they're wearing on these pictures:

Yup... I guess Ben has one liek that. His famous Laudrup shirt i guess.

But I'm not sure it's exactly the same....

Okay, thanks to Ajax Talk member Rodimus Prime, the official 'Miss Marple of Ajax Talk', you can now see pictures of both the home and the away kit for next season. The photo is in the following Dutch-language discussion thread here on Ajax Talk:

http://www.ajaxtalk.nl/portal/viewtopic ... sc&start=0

Have a look-see and post your thoughts here!

My thoughts: I like the away kit. Not bad. It looks a lot like the 1999-2000 one. The marine blue is nice. I still like it better if the away kit is one colour entirely (2003-2004 was great), but this is alright.

As for the home kit. Hmmm. Red bar interrupted... white shoulders. Don't like that. The red bar also seems a little wider than it used to be in recent years (no problems with that). Otherwise it's nice and simple. Could have been worse.

The away kit is ok, but I thought Ajax changed the home kit every 2 years... And if I'm not wrong, I don't think the shirt of this season have been worne for 2 years. Anyway, I bought it, and I'm quite happy cause the new one is ugly ! :pukey:

Yeah, I'll just wear this season's home jersey (I have '7 ROSALES') for another season. I'll buy the away shirt, though. Probably with '4 ESCUDÉ'.

Thank you Rodimus Prime.I like the 1999-2000 strip, poor year but nice strip, as evidenced by my Laudrup shirt. I don't quite like the 05-06 as much ,but I will definitely buy it .I have a one shirt per year rule in effect .No idea yet whose name will go on the back;thus ruining that players career.

That said,Mitea is finally emerging from his year-long occupancy in the doghouse.

As for the home strip,if the bar is interrupted,I take a pass and wait until the clueless numbnuts un-interrupt it.

unless I get money for it, I would not want to wear a shirt with an enormous ABN AMRO on it; they should print one without it

OK, I don't like adverisement neither but unless you're from Catalunya (FC Barcelona or Euskadi (Athletic Blibao) you just NEED a sponsor, because it brings loads of cash...

obviously, but they could sell another shirt with no adverstisement, with the old logo for instance

Then you can do what a lot of people on these forums have done : buy a vintage jersey of the 70's without any ad on it... They rock by the way.

I didn't want to put the link with my post but seems that Manneken had less remorse than me :)

That site is just awesome. High quality preshrunk thick cotton vntage jerseys. All made in the UK. And you get jerseys for all the national teams and clubs.

TOFFS are great! I have two of their shirts (a DDR '74 and a Holland '74 with #14) and they're too good to be true!

The official Ajax Fanshop has a deal with them: their shirts are now also available at the Ajax Fanshop. Not online, though, but you can order them directly from TOFFS.

They ship amazingly fast, by the way. Both times I ordered something I had my shirt(s) after two or three days.

I have to agree the TOFFS shirts are in a class of their own...I have the DDR one too and a '50's Blackpool one.

Just before Xmas I found myself in Newcastle, home of TOFFS and decided to pay homage and visit their shop...bit of a disapointment really....stick to the website.

Anyway, I think I'm well :offtopic: :redcard: and obviously suffering from Anoracnophobia (trainspotters diesease) so I'll shut up.

I sincerely don't understand this DDR fashion... Pretty much like a CCCP jersey (politics ASIDE in this sentence) the teams sucked ass, what's the flave ?

Which one do you have: the white one or the dark blue one? (TOFFS have both). I hae the dark blue one. I wanted it to be the shirt in which the DDR beat West-Germany at the '74 World Cup. Legendary game: the DDR beating the 'BRD' in their own country.
