According to newspaper Algemeen Dagblad De Graafschap would like to land Siem de Jong on a loan deal. He is originally from De Graafschap and his brother, Luuk, is playing for them this season.

I would say... no, thanks, not a good idea.

Siem has not been great in recent months, but I do believe he is a good player. Let's keep him in the squad.

Even if he'd be an undisputed good player, playing for De Graafschap would not be such a bad deal, not for him and not for Ajax.

Being a good player is no guarantee for being part of the Ajax line-up. Therefore, his development could benefit from a temporary move to Doetinchem.

He is probably too good for that lot after all he tries to play football !!!

Watching them on Sunday I know why they are called farmers, did any of them avoid a yellow card??

Siem could benefit from going out on loan though.

For those who missed the news: Siem de Jong broke his collarbone when he was brought down by Heracles goalkeeper Pieckenhagen. He will be out for some time.

Signed a contract extension today, new 4-year contract (2015).

I'm quite suprised that hes signed up for this long. Its looking like he might do a fair bit of bench warming this seaon. But much respect for him if hes after fighting for a spot. good lad!

Where should Siem actually play? Struggle to actually see a lot of games but he seems to be played in different positions each time I see him.

That may be the point -- he can be slotted in wherever needed as the occasion arises. Kind of like a utility infielder in baseball.

Jup. Sucks he is never any good in any position actually. Spot on the bench looks to be his best position.

I think his best position is the false nine role really which he played actually well at the end of last season. By the way, what exactly what he was playing when he had his good run of form with martin jol durgin the 2009-2010 season??

I hope we sell him. Never liked the guy. Too slow for a midfielder, too weak for a CF. All in all= good for nothing.
