That was shocking,too many disappeared in the second half & pace destroyed us at the back. X'C.If life is like a box of chocolates then Stam is the hard nutty one,but Vermaelen really is the soft center.

pathetic? The only thing pathetic tonight was Maduro. And you can't blame Vermaelen for this.

he fell apart in the second half, and should damn well know to listen to his keeper when he says "i got it" - i'm not blaming him for the whole thing, obviously, but he should not be a starter on this team

every defender would try to block that ball, it was just plain unlucky that the ball went into the goal.

his keeper called him off of it, he touched it and it unfortunately went in... still a huge mistake that cost us the CL

i blame emmanuelson because he was directly the blame one for the
2 goals. in the first he didnt take his player and the dane scored and the second where the fuck was he?? and maduru also had a fucked up game

but hey...remmember which place we ended last year?

i hope that nobody ( except emmanuelson) will leave this january because of this fluke

Before dishing stuff towards Vermealen, i would dish out to Emanuelson... he los his man in the first goal and later was the player who lost the ball wich transformed into a counter atack that led too the second goal.

Why Emmanuelson? I agree he was bad tonight but not overall. Nor is Vermaelen. We were just shite going forward tonight and payed the price. If we'd got the goals that the first half deserved the FCK would not have come back at us as they did (and even if, it wouldn't have mattered). Whatever the call, the o.g. was a total fluke! End of, we were not good enough!

At least we can't embarras ourselves in the CL proper this year!! On this performance we sure aint worth it.

Agreed. :yes: ..... Thomas was unfortunate, but Urby was negligent. Just goes to show that for all his talent Urby is still some way off being a top level defender. Tim de Cler will be having a very looooooooooong laugh. :yes:

we paid the highest price for not finishing the game up in the first half, gabri must be feeling pretty bad, he had a handful of chances in the first half.

Ten Cate must be giving out some shouts in the locker room.

what stings the most is that i cant say Copenhagen eliminates us....it was us who eliminates ourseleves, literaly and metaphoricaly speaking, Copenhagen wasnt even that dangerous, they just had some chances of corner kicks and long balls, im not saying they were'nt worthy im just saying that they werent the best team either.

especially as a defender couse hes not responsible enough and in attack he wastes a lot of balls by kicking them to the crowd or losing in dribel
he doesnt belong in ajax and i thought that way for a long time
but i wanted him to prove me wrong

In a game like this the approach should be simple:

1st half - try to take the lead. As Ajax did.

If still tied at the break:
2nd half - defensive lockdown. Nothing gets through.

I don't know what the plan was for the second half, but the coach was responsible for it.
