This news message on ajax.nl explicitly states that Ogararu is part of the squad for the match against Bremen.

I hope the 'news' of his suspension reaches Ten Cate in time, otherwise we'll be in big trouble.

Okay - here's the final word. We (the AT5 Godenzonen team) dropped one of HTC's assistants, Fons Groenendijk, a text message this afternoon (this would annoy HTC big time, but Groenendijk is a nice, laid back bloke with a good sense of humor). Our message: "Fons, Ogararu reportedly suspended. Did you know that?"

His reply: "We are aware of it, but thank you kindly for thinking along ;-)"

If the latest reports (Ajax Netwerk, NOS Teletekst) are to be believed, Ogararu is suspended for Wednesday - but KJH is not...

This is very weird. I didn't know Ogararu had already had three yellow cards, but at the same time I am 100% sure that almost every newspaper and website has reported that KJH will be suspended...

If he turns out to be eligible for Wednesday almost every Dutch news source has gotten it wrong. Oh well, whatever. We'll see what happens.

This is also what I thought when I read the UEFA documents posted above : it's shows that Ogararu is suspended, but not Huntelaar, who will be only if he receives another one... I wonder if it's not a mistake of recording by UEFA. :D

Edit: I quickly checked the match reports of my website and well, Ogararu has 3 cards and Huntelaar 2 too. So it's not UEFA who got it wrong... Strange.

I'm disappointed in Markus, he's spouting crap about Ajax now that he's at Werder.

Which reliable ones exactly? Neither ajax.nl , ad.nl, vi.nl or Ajax Netwerk mentioned the suspension of Huntelaar. The only one which actually states that is Ajax Online. I find it strange that people thought he was suspended.

Here are the yellow cards for Ogararu and Huntelaar;

Oga
Zulte Waregem, Espanyol, Sparta Praag

KJH
Zulte Waregem, Sparta Praag, Kopenhagen

Each have received three cards but KJH's first was in the CL qualifiers. This explains the confusion. Some people must have counted KJH's card in Kopenhagen as a UC card. So indeed, 'KJH has 2 yellow cards. Not suspended'.

Ajax scores shortly before halftime. We all get our hopes up. Bremen equalizes in final ten minutes and wins in injury time.

KJH and Gabri both have 2 yellow cards, so if they will be booked tomorow, they will miss second leg. i have to say a miss of gabri would be more painful then KJH in this situation. werder will do without their captain bauman, klasnic (for both matches) and borowski. wome and frings have 2 yellow cards

With KJH now available and Rosales not going back to Arge we have all our forwards available but the defence is down to Stam and Heitinga plus Lindenbegh and midfield of Gabri, Sneijder( who I assume is fit!!) Roger, who has played just 45 mins of football since Christmas (reserves last night) and Maduro,who is struggling for form.

Which one of Maduro or Roger will play in defence???

I assume Van Der Weil and Donald, neither with much reserve games behind them, will not be thrown to the wolves!!!. Anita can play right back and for a17 year old has some experience.

PS Is there any reason why Sarpong is not going as he went to Cape Town ???

If we're going to play for the counter, we ought to have KJH in there. I would do something like:

I would not play De Mul in this one, but two fast, inpredictable guys on the wings, who can do something crazy and score a goal. Perez can play as a real 'number 10' and support KJH. Sneijder would prefer to be the '10', but he will have to be a 'servant of the team' and accept the left midfield role.

I don't know how Roger performed with Young Ajax on Monday. If he's anywhere near matchfit he could be a very important sub. We might need Rosales as well. Hopefully not one of the kiddo's in defence.

Right - it's time to switch off my computer and catch a few hours of sleep. My alarm clock will wake me up at 5:30 tomorrow morning and then it's off to Bremen. Come on, Ajax!

No matter how I look at it, it really doesn't look very good, does it? We don't have a left back, we're improvising at right back and our best striker will most likely be benched. And the players that are destined to come in (Donald and Van Der Wiel) are guys that I've never heard of before.

You'll see that KJH makes his appearence after 85 minutes, just in time to pick up his 3rd yellow card. Naturally, Babel will be injured for the return, etc etc.

Bremen have their own injury problems(midfield) and I'm sure that we'll do just fine. A small loss(3-2) or a draw.

I like your Ajax line-up a lot better then what I've seen thusfar as the likely choice of HTC. Perez/Huntelaar in stead of Roger/Maduro makes sense to me. You've got Diego and Klose covered and people to occupy their wing backs. Looking at this it could be very important whether Jensen and Borowski will be fit enough to play.

Could you explain why you think it would be suicide? Because I completely disagree.
