Bluedaddy 19 and Thomas, thank you for the video clips. Excellent stuff! The first and second goals were awesome. The third appeared to be a great counter in its own right. A trap match , where HUGE win + week off = form lapse , but Ajax did the business. Lesson learned from the Excelsior and Heerenveen matches .
3 points behind. Don't look now PSV .Rood en Wit items in your mirror are gaining and definitely appear as large as they are, if not larger.

I guess we're in for another week of Sneijder and Hunter to.... talk. Good in one respect . Their play is helping Ajax to gain ground , even if it is at the expense of the rumours du jour.

Excellent result and cheers for the video clips guys. I know we're still 3 points behind but I think at this point I'm more confident as an Ajax fan than I would be as a PSV fan. Lets just hope Liverpool do us a favour or two as well in their games with PSV.

Good game from the Ajax boys! Let's hope PSV drop points against NEC and Twente while Ajax continues to pile the pressure and go on top!! :headbang:

Simply fantastic. The Hunter is back, no doubt of that. We are so close, hopefully we make it. The revival of Aajax this is great.

Great result, great weather, wonderful day! :headbang:

Ajax could and should have scored more goals, they simply camped in Heracles half but were not always inspired. Still, that was a solid game and Stek did a really good job on the few counter attacks that Almelo created. The only worrying thing of the day was the injury of Stam who had to leave the pitch a few seconds before the final whistle.

KJH + Sneijder : 9 goals in 3 games... not too bad. :D

Noticed the "Florius" name on the kits today. Not being from the Netherlands, can someone shed some light on what Florius is and why they/it replaced ABN AMRO this week? Thanks.

If I understood well, Florius should be something like a new company founded by ABN-AMRO. They wore that sponsor only for this game.

Yeah I noticed it too. It felt pretty weird not seeing the traditional ABN-AMRO sponsorship.

I thought perhaps Florius was the name of the Heracles coach seeing as they were advertising ours..... ;)

There's only one MOM....that's Wesley! Just hope we can hold onto him for a while longer! If we lose our "big guns" of Sneijder, Huntelaar and Babel, we could be in deep shit in next season's CL.
Still, with the "older" players only being given two year deals, there's something coming through........

AJAX will be the product of our youth development in a couple of years...I'm sure of it!

ONWARDS TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP """

Only four games to go, and three points behind Philips,
looks rather unlikely : we need them to lose one of those last games.
But they may be exhausted by the CL, so, who knows ? :666:

Their next five games are as follows...

Liverpool (h)
NEC (a)
Liverpool (a)
Twente (h)
Utrecht (a)

It really is possible. An away game at NEC, who are still competing for the play-offs for numbers 6 to 9, in between the two Liverpool games and then Twente, a few days after their visit to Anfield... I'm not saying that winning the title is now a piece of cake for Ajax, but it's definitely not unlikely.

PSV will have to lose at NEC or against Twente, though. If they win those two we're fucked. Utrecht are shit and PSV always win there anyway. Iwould put my money on 'NEC away'. That's where they might screw it up. Two draws (NEC and Twente) would be good, too.

As for Ajax...

Yesterday's game was a bit tepid. Definitely not great. Heracles had a few chances and it was a bit disappointing that Ajax didn't score any more goals. The score was 3-0 after 53 minutes. Heracles were K.O. and Ajax had more than 35 minutes to net a few extra goals.

But oh well, it's a good result. The boys are doing the business: we've scored 12 goals in the last three matches, which is not bad considering that two of those matches were Twente away and PSV away.

I don't think goal-differential will be an issue. The difference in goal-balance is now 3 in PSV's favour. If we manage to close the gap of three points, we will automatically have a better goal-differential than them. Three goals yesterday was just fine.

One last thought: ever since the much-discussed article in Algemeen Dagblad ('KJH and Sneijder have no chemistry and they don't score when they're both on the pitch') both KJH and Sneijder have scored at least once in every single game - and they also provided each other with some pretty great assists. :D

KJH: seven goals in the last three games... seems like someone's got the feeling back! :headbang:

Algemeen Dagblad is from Rotterdam so what do you expect? :D

I really hopwe that PSv are pissing their pants and that Liverpool do some phsycological damage to them. AZ will also be chasing but they have UEFA cup games as well.

To put it bluntly: we will not lose the title on goal-differential. If goal-differential will be decisive, we will actually win it on goal-differential, by the time it matters (we score much more easily than PSV at the moment, and we have more home games, against weaker opposition).

If we lose the race, it will be on points, not goals.

There are 4 league games left to be played :
7-4 20.00 NEC - PSV
14-4 19.30 PSV - FC Twente
22-4 14.30 FC Utrecht - PSV
29-4 14.30 PSV - Vitesse

Yeah: four league games, and the first two of those are the two most difficult ones, by a mile, if only because they're played around the Liverpool games.

If PSV hold on to their lead against NEC and Twente, it will be over. They will definitely not blow it in Utrecht, if you ask me. Utrecht are crap and PSV always win there anyway. If PSV are still tops after the Twente game, it's done.

Their collapse must take place against NEC and Twente. That is: in the upcoming 14 days, hopefully with a little help from Liverpool.

Does anyone know if PSV and Ajax have the same amount of points at the end of the championship, how the champion is decided? Amount of goals or what?
