D-Day.

FC Twente travel to NAC Breda, who require one point if they want to qualify for the play-offs (and keep their European dreams alive). Twente defender Douglas is suspended for this fixture, but so are NAC players Schilder and Penders.

As for Ajax: they clinched titles in Nijmegen in 1990 and 2002... NEC are finished. They have nothing left to play for.

We'll see what happens.

Is this because Feyenoord automatically get a Europa Cup place because of reaching the cup final, and thus opening up an extra slot?

One point is enough only then, if Roda won't win their last game, but they play against Willem at home, so they probably win, which means that NAC needs all 3 points against Twente to stay in 9th place

It would have been better if NAC could play for a draw. Now you could get a situation that if Roda is winning against WII and NAC is still a draw that they will risk all to get the winning goal which could result in conceding one.

Lets hope our friends Mitchell Donald and Jan-Arie van der Heijden have good games then for Willem.
I have to say of all the teams we have played since Christmas Willem looked worse than RKC.At least we have reached the last game and can still win the title.

F-word done and dusted for this week. Time to fully focus on shellacking NEC and hoping for a little help in Breda. HUP AJAX HUP !!!

But Twente on the road in 2010 shows a far more vulnerable side. Most recent first:

also, twente has dropped points in breda 11 of the last 16 times (though they have won on the last two visits)

I'm reminded of when Rovers won the premiership in 1995. They needed a point on the last day to win, but lost at Anfield. Manure somehow managed to draw (at West Ham I think?) and Blackburn were champions anyway. Hope we don't end up losing to NEC...

I have a feeling that the famous three kings has closed down.I tried to phone them and the number has been disconnected.It may be worth double checking before you set out.Any other suggestions for seeing the game?

Hi Pizza 5, I've just called them and by the sound of things (and I really mean SOUND of things :) ) they are open. The girl on the phone didn't have the listing at hand but she was sure they could show the Ajax game.

Today is the day of destiny. I think no matter what happens, we should be really proud of our team this season, we have CL footie and pretty much a piece of silverware in the bag. This would be the icing on the cake and the best bday present for me :) I really pray that Twente draw as i cant see them losing. Im soo nervous! But no matter what happens Im proud with our progress this season and just pray we can hold on to most of our starlets :)

Totally agree with this. This season has been a rare glimmer of hope among a bad few years. When you consider that the football economy makes it unlikely that we will lose a lot of players this summer, and that we have a glut of talented youth players to draw on, things are looking better than they have in years.

C'mon boys!

Let's take care of business today and take pride in how our team played the second half of this season!!!

Anyone knows when the last time we conceded under 20 goals in a season?

Just hope we win and if Twente win then fair enough they have been up at the top all season .Worse case today if both games are drawn.

I am proud of Ajax this season they have played superbly since Christmas with 7 regular starters from our youth team.Winning the title today really will be the iceing on the cake .

Come on Ajax make it 14 wins in a row .You cannot do anything more today .

Im sooo nervous i feel sick hahah, im gonna be watching the games through my fingers

A double amen to that!! As for tonight (it's nighttime here) -- all we can do is hope that the boys go out and do their job, and hope that NAC do theirs, as well. A win for us and a draw for them will be good enough. I imagine Twente will be plenty nervous tonight -- I think there is more pressure on them, as the title is theirs to lose. Game time in 20 mins. or so -- I'm pacing the floor already.
