Off to Kiev for the next round of the Europa League. Apparently Dnipro has only played three league matches since the end of their winter break and the manager is concerned about match fitness. A couple of away goals would be quite nice but Ajax are a club that has trouble scoring. Don't know if Milik will be fit and Sigthorrsson did not play in the Jong match yesterday so striker is still up in the air. I would like to see Zivkovic get a run in this match.

Scene is set for a Zivkovic hattrick! Joking aside, I bet Frank will go with Schöne at CF again

Milik is fit and Moisander is available ,(pleased to read his wife is out of hospital she had a baby last week)

Zivkovic should be on the bench and maybe come on for Milik for the last 15/20 mins. Siggy is still not match fit
so chances are he wont be back in our first team squad before the Int break.

Arrived in Kiev after a 7 hours and 45 minutes train ride from Lviv to Kiev.

As Dnipro had an away match against Karpaty in Lviv for the league last Sunday at 7:30 pm I also attended that one in the stadium, they didn't scare me with their football skills.

Has anybody seen odds on this? Are we favored to advance?

I would bet on an away win for Ajax tomorrow night. 1-3 score is my prediction.

It's weird feeling optimism about a European fixture.

Can't say that I know much about Dnipro. Looked at the roster, but the names didn't ring any bells. Still they did drop Olympiakos (agg 2-4) in the last round so they can play football. Maybe they are roughly on the same level as Legia, so I think we have good chance to go through to the top 8! There the opponent will be tougher for sure. I have a little soft spot for Roma so I'd like to see us face them.

Ha, I worry that de Rossi would snap our midfielders in half. He kicked the crap out of Boulahrouz and Kasim and those guys are monsters compared to our kids!

Not so spectaculair. A tall, skinny girl with dark hair and spectacular green eyes was in my train dorm, told me she lives in Lviv and was going to Kiev as a model for a body paint on the same day as our match.

I did not ask for her number or for the time of the body paint but she did make my bed as in an Ukrainian night train you will get sheets, a blanket, a pillow and they wake you up half an hour before arriving at the destination to take these things back.

ESPN3 is showing all EL matches EXCEPT Dnipro-Ajax!

Ajax is living dangerously.... Is the pitch bad? Really poor play from Ajax so far. With the track around the pitch the a away fans are a mile away from the action.

I think we really need to score that vital away goal. Or well the more the merrier.

What a terrible half of football. Only chance came in the last few seconds off the corner and maybe Veltman should have done better. Defense is awful, passing is woeful (more passes completed to players wearing blue shirts than those wearing red and white), tactics are pitiful. Club is fortunate to be down only 1-0. Shocking how poorly prepared this team is.

Well we should have scored with that at the end ,either Klaassen or Veltman should have put it in the net.

Cruijff is probably wishing he was at the body paint tonight rather than this match!

Overall a poor first half by us we are playing poorly. Get KIshna on for Schone and Sinkgraven for either Serero or Bazoer as those 2 may create some chances
