An uninspiring match from an Ajax club that was very poor in passing. Of course they always have troubles in Utrecht but one always hopes for a better performance than was seen today. Viergever was perhaps most at fault on the goal for not doing more to clear the ball. The attack was non-existent and a fortunate carom off a Utrecht player was the goal for Ajax.

Player Ratings:

Cillessen (7.5) - good game and had no chance on the goal, positionally good and distributed the ball quickly
Boilesen (7) - maybe the best field player today, no mistakes at all that I could see; good defending and going forward
Viergever (6.5) - decent game aside for the goal scored
Veltman (6.5) - missed on a couple of defensive plays that he normally makes but Utrecht shot wildly
van Rhijn (4) - had some good interventions in the second half but his shots and crosses were wild
Serero (5.5) - just above average, passing was quite poor
Klaassen (6.5) - appeared to slow down late in the second half but otherwise good game
Bazoer (6.5) - another good match until he tired and had to come off
Schöne (7) - good on the ball all match long
Sigthorrsson (3.5) - the less said the better
el Ghazi (6) - still needs to improve his decision making
Riedewald (5.5) - decent enough in the final 20 minutes
Zivkovic (5.5) - really didn't have much of an opportunity to do much
Kishna (NR) - don't think he had a touch as a late sub

Away to Heracles next Saturday. Let's hope for a couple of goals.

As usual we lose points at Utrecht. Can't complain, draw us probably more than we deserved. Did we have a shot in the second half?

Viergever had a decent shot that was saved though probably going wide. van Rhijn also shot wildly.

Another very poor game and we deserved nothing.No attacking and woeful defending on their goal. we should hold on to 2nd place with the lead now 6 points although I am not that positive.

If you are going to start with 2 attackers ,one of whom is slow and useless you are not going to win.

Need max 10 points for 2nd although our GD over Fword is +12 so 9 points.We have now won 6, drawn 2 of our last 8 playing poorly so we should be ok.We have to drop that useless carthorse and also start with 2 wingers. Hopefully 2 more games for Jong Ajax and Fischer will be available. We also need a fit Sinkgraven,Serero runs ,works hard ,creates little or nothing.

To be fair, I thought he looked pretty good when he first came on with the club. IIRC he got hurt and seems to have fallen off since then.
