Eight match left in a season of disappointment for Ajax. The club is now two points ahead of AZ yet still has the best goal differential in the Eredivise. According to the stats guru 11tegen11, Ajax must be one of the biggest under performing clubs in Europe (it would be really nice to know if they keep this kind of information) with large numbers of squandered chances all season long.

I'll miss the match as my flight to California leaves mid-day and I'll be at the airport waiting to board. I will anxiously be checking my phone and will rely on all my friends on this forum to provide good updates. We travel back the following Sunday and will miss the Sparta - Ajax match.

After getting a goal , and it was a lovely cross by Ziyech, we saw them score a beauty.KJH has had some chances and my money is on him getting the winner.

If we end up drawing this game I think we will see the white hankies ,so lets hope for a win.7 points behind is still too many with 7 to go but at least if we win it will put a bit of pressure on PSV

Going to have to miss the second half -- not sure if we will get another goal -- not very optimistic based on what the first half had to offer. Seems like no one can put the ball into the net anymore.

A good game, fun to watch. Ajax played well

Another lovely pass by Ziyech for Neres to make it 4-1 and thats it.

It would have been a lot easier had KJH 's finishing been better.Would add that he has not played for 3 weeks and only just got fit for the game so would have been rusty.Even today he was still a million times better than Siem was in the last 2 shambolic games.

We played positively today and most had a decent game and Ziyech was my MOM. 3 superb assists and he worked hard ,even defending.

We have given away too many silly points to win the title but lets just win our last 7 games( maybe asking alot) and put some pressure on PSV

There is a great chance that Ajax will win the Eredivisie. Even if they fail to win away to Sparta Rotterdam next week. PSV will drop points against AZ and drew 1 or 2 other games, they will also lose to Ajax at Home. Accordin to the mathematician, that would make Ajax Eredivisie Champions!

Just got back. Wow! What a pleasant surprise -- never expected those goals. Naturally, all the good stuff happens when I'm not there to see it. Will have to enjoy it on the highlights. Winning the title is going to be a stretch too far, I'm afraid (still, if we beat PSV in our game against them, who knows), but at least it looks like we will hold on to second place.
