Ajax take to the field in an empty Arena for a cup match against Barendrecht. I presume there will be a lot of player rotation to give the starters a rest before the Feyenoord match on the weekend. Feyenoord are away to FC Twente which is a tougher opponent. I think the Ajax match is scheduled to be televised.

Unuvar, van Axel Dongen and Reeger are all up from Jong Ajax and in the match day team for the Cup match tonight. No word yet on the starting lineup.

Good to see those 3 in the squad.Reeger Unuvar and Taylor the best Jong this season along with Gorter.V A Dongen should get a few minutes hopefully. He is not a Jong regular but still mainly with the U18 and the oustanding talent in U18.

Lineup: Onana; Tagliafico, Martinez, Schuurs, Rensch; Jensen, Taylor, Klaasson; Daramy, Danilo, Neres

Taylor gets the first goal on a nice tight pass into the box from Rensch. Barendrecht is trying to play football which is good to see.

It remains 2-0 at the half. Onana was hardly troubled in goal and Ajax looked good particularly in tight spaces. Both Taylor and Jensen are doing well in the MF.

Not bothering too much with a cup game against amateurs.Should be getting 10-0 in a game like this.

Reeger on for Martinez and Rensch moves to central defense.

Danilo gets his second of the match on some nice combination passing between Klaassen (!) and Jensen. Unuvar on at the hour mark for Jensen.

van Axel Dongen gets his debut taking over for Daramy at 75 minutes.

Hlynsson on for Klaassen and his debut.

Match ends at 4-0. Hlynsson is pulled down in the box and converts the PK. The CR kindly blew the match whistle at the 90 minute mark forgoing the three minutes of added time that was posted. Not worth doing any ratings on a match like this. Ajax dominated and Barendrecht had one chance that was converted but called for off sides. Klaassen slipped at the halfway line and the ball fell kindly to the visitors who had a very nice transition break.

van Axel Dongen had only a couple of touches. Reeger looked sharp at RB and Unuvar had some good touches in the MF. Taylor played a very good match.

Feyenoord on the weekend and our rivals were knocked out of the Cup today by FC Twente.

4-0 with 2 pens not great but we won and gave some kids a game.Maybe they should have given the kids 90mins each.

Ajax’s reserve attackers really didn’t take their chance to impress. Daramy and Neres were both awful.

Highlight for me was that Hlynnson penalty right into the top corner, that takes some nerve!
