Fresh off the Beker quarterfinal win over Vitesse, Ajax take on fourth place Twente at home on Sunday. Feyenoord are having a good run right now and are only a point behind PSV.

Mazraoui back in the line up and Klaassen starts in place of Gravenberch who has recovered from Covid and is on the bench for today's match. I have to catch the replay as we are having guests over this morning (US time). both Feryenoord and PSV won their matches this weekend. AZ is looking quite good now and Ajax have drawn them in the Beker semifinal match.

Missed the first 20 mins getting a stream,clearly did not like me blocking popups .Good goal but enough chances to have finished the game.
Need a quick 2nd otherwise Twente could get another draw.

A very comfortable win and we have now beaten Utrecht Heracles and Twente all comfortably in this last 4 weeks to gain revenge on those 3 taking points from us in the first half of the season.Haller's finishing top quality .

Saw bits and pieces of the game today and we seemed extremely comfortable. If not for Unnerstall's heroics, we could've scored another 3-4.

This was a well played match by Ajax and only the double clanger off the crossbar and the post by van Wolfswinkel threatened Pasveer's goal. Other than that the defense was outstanding. It took a while for Ajax to solve the bunker down puzzle that Ron Jans set up but once Klassen got the match winner in the first half the game was not in doubt. the Twente keeper had an outstanding match despite having five goals scored against him. The scoreline could have easily been eight or nine to nil. I think this team is rounding into a real good squad that is capable of giving anyone in Europe trouble.

Player Ratings:

Pasveer (7) - had some routine stuff to do and kicked and distributed the ball very well
Blind (7) - solid play on offense overlapping with Tadic
Martinez (8) - what a wonderful game he had, solid in all facets and only the shot that he skied over the crossbar in the waning moments was a distraction
Timber (7.5) - also strong on defense and smooth ball handling
Mazraoui (7) - almost had a pair of goals and his inside runs were a perfect complement as Twente were doubling on Antony
Alvarez (7) - solid game again and he is seeing much more of the ball these days
Berghuis (7.5) - very industrious throughout the game
Klaassen (7) - got the match winner early on and almost had a second goal on a shot that was well saved
Tadic (7) - had to take a halfpoint off for the missed penalty, IIRC he has missed two in a row now
Haller (8) - solid game from the striker and his ball handling was quite good
Antony (7) - didn't score but he was forcing Twente to double him up all match long creating openings
Gravenberch (6) - good to see him in action after a bout with Covid; his ball skills were very good in tight spaces
Tagliafico (NR) - on late but had a really good run inside that helped create the final goal, I hope that another team sees his qualiites and he gets a good transfer offer this summer
