Second round of the KNVB Cup (the trophy formerly known as Amstel Cup and Gatorade Cup...): Young RKC Waalwijk (yes, that's their reserves team) versus Ajax. Kick-off time: 20.15 CET.

And the good news is: all the games in the first round of the cup will be available live on the website of the football show on Talpa TV, http://www.dewedstrijden.tv/

On the night you can select your game and watch it live for only 1.90 euro. Don't know the details just yet, but it sounds like you guys will be able to watch this one.

Does any of the Dutchies know how this pay-per-view thing on http://www.dewedstrijden.tv/ works? Is it available for foreigners (credit card payment?) and does anyone have any experience with it?

Aren't most of this things either unavaliable or more expensive in foreign countries, even Belgium?

Haven't tried it, but the web site is over bloated. The free stuff rarely streams and takes forever to open anything.

I wish they would just post the vodcasts like last season...esp now that ESPN no longer show Dutch football :nooo:

You should love Talpa. They're masters at not showing KJH's dirty tricks.

Loads of football knowledge, but sometimes the conspiracy paranoia of the typical cockroach still shows at the surface... What a load of crap.

Not a load of crap. RTL 7's Voetbal Insite showed KJH's terrible and dirty fouls from Sunday in their mini-mini-mini highlight reel.

In the megahighlightshow on Talpa: Nowhere to be found.

You were at the game: You saw them too.

I saw only one very blatant and stupid foul from behind - and he was booked for it.

Apart from that he's not dirtier than any other striker. And he definitely doesn't foul more than the defenders who mark him (Penders/Zwaanswijk etc.)

You missed two more fouls then. One where he tried lashed out with his arm at Saeijs, missed, and then decided to kick him.

And another one where he kicked Kah at 150 mph with the ball in mid-air, yet nowhere near the area where KJH struck.

KJH is a good striker. A very good one. And good strikers are a tad dirty. Yet, he's getting away with many things that others don't.

Let's not forget he once kicked a defender in the balls when things weren't going right for his team.

He's the angel of Dutch footy and that's why he gets away with pretty much anything. And he knows it.

The foul on Saeijs was clear and he deserved a red card for that although I think it looked worst than it actually was. However, even that is a red card these days and I won't be surprised if they will still ban him for a few games.

The situation with Kah was just unlucky. KJH had every intention to play the ball but Kah just jumped in his way.

Not that it matters but Kah did deserve what he's got.

Yes, but you're absolutely right, Mr Assistant Moderator, thank you very much.

;)

Ladies and gentlemen, if you want to post something about Young RKC Waalwijk vs Ajax, you have come to the right place and are absolutely free to reply in this very thread.

However, if you wish to post something about Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in general, or his alleged crimes against humanity in particular, please click THIS LINK and reply over there.

You are looking for trouble Mr Pis? ;)

Poor Young RKC, they will probably play reasonably well, maybe even have 1 or 2 shots on target but still be kicked out of the tournament because Ajax will have to show something and won't stop scoring until they bang in #10

And last season Kah got away with blatant fouls on Huntelaar. Shit happens, Steef.

Stam is going to be rested for sure and according to Hennie Spijkerman more of Ajax' starting players will be rested tomorrow.

I just read that Jasper Kok and Milano Koenders (who played for Young Ajax last season) are now at RKC and expected to play against Ajax with the reserves tonight...

The first one was a bit of a joke. One of the weirdest things I ever saw an Ajax defender do. Here's what happened. The game started, Young RKC got the ball, attacked over the left flank and gave a high, not very dangerous cross into the penalty area.

And then Zdenek Grygera had a black-out. Or something.

He just stuck out his arm and handled the ball. He almost punched it away like a goalkeeper. Totally unnecessary and so blatantly obvious that you really wondered: what the f*ck you doing? Are you mad? Penalty, yellow card (should've been red, actually...) and bang, 1-0 down. Totally bizarre.

What was he thinking? Did he want to make it a little bit more exciting...?

Quite funny, looking back at it... :D
