Mateja Kezman international af, Danko Lazovic wel geselecteerd

VIANEN, 5 augustus 2006 13:10 - Mateja Kezman heeft van de Servische bondscoach Javier Clemente geen uitnodiging gekregen voor het oefenduel 16 augustus in en tegen Tsjechië. Clemente, die na het WK Ilija Petkovic opvolgde, wil aan de gang met een nieuwe groep. Daarin lijkt voor de voetballer van Atlético Madrid voorlopig geen plaats.

In de selectie van Clemente zitten slechts acht spelers die met Servië en Montenegro meededen aan het wereldkampioenschap in Duitsland. "Ik trek me niets aan van de populariteit van bepaalde spelers", aldus Clemente.

Danko Lazovic profiteert van de bezem die door de selectie is gehaald. De speler van Vitesse zit wel bij de opgeroepen spelers. Onder Clemente moet Servië zich plaatsen voor het EK 2008 in Zwitserland en Oostenrijk.

Is Kezman niet gewoon geschorst? Zo ja, dan blundert voetbalonline weer eens.

Voor een oefenduel zal hij niet geschorst zijn, maar misschien wil de trainer niet met hem oefenen omdat hij er tijdens de eerste kwalificatiewedstrijd ook niet bij zal zijn.

Dit weet ik niet zeker, maar het lijkt mij logisch. Anders kom je wel erg makkelijk van je schorsing af. Een oefeninterland is geen officiele wedstrijd, een speler met twee paspoorten kan na alleen een oefenduel voor land A gespeeld te hebben, vervolgens nog gewoon uitkomen voor land B.

dat is een ander verhaal, spelers die voor hun 21ste voor land A spelen kunnen ook nog voor land B gaan voetballen, terwijl jonge spelers evengoed een schorsing kunnen krijgen ;)

Crvena Zvedza survive Partizan pressure

Champions FK Crvena Zvedza remain joint top of the Serbian first division, seven points clear of city rivals FK Partizan, after the Belgrade giants played out a goalless draw on Saturday.

Poor finishing
The result left Crvena Zvedza level on 17 points at the head of the standings with OFK Beograd while Partizan, who enjoyed the bulk of possession during the match, stay sixth after stretching their winless record against Saturday's opponents to eleven matches; in addition, Partizan have failed to score in the last four of those games. A combination of poor finishing by the home side and a string of saves from Crvena Zvedza goalkeeper Zoran Banović ultimately denied them a win.

Banović performance
Banović, who was standing in for the suspended Ivan Randjelović, rescued his side either side of the interval with superb reflex saves to stop fierce shots from Cameroonian striker Pierre Boya twice and Nemanja Rnić. Nigerian Obiora Odita missed Partizan's best chance when he headed just wide while Ivica Kralj did well at other end to keep out efforts by Crvena Zezda strikers Dušan Djokić and Milan Purović.

Bajević relief
Crvena Zvezda coach Dušan Bajević was happy with the outcome and his team's commitment. "It wasn't a great performance but we did the job and stayed unbeaten," he said. "We were on the back foot throughout but defended resolutely and I can't complain." His counterpart Miodrag Ješić rued the missed chances and praised his players for "pressing on until the bitter end. We played well and created many chances but have nothing to show for all our pressure in the end because poor finishing let us down again. It's a problem we will have to address."

Narrow lead
Earlier on Saturday, OFK went top on goal difference with a 2-1 win at struggling FK Vojvodina thanks to early goals from Stefan Babović and Ajazdin Nuhi. Promoted FK Mladost Apatin are a point behind the leaders in third after a 0-0 draw at FK Buducnost Banatski Dvor.

Club beveelt losbandige spits te trouwen

Het Bulgaarse Litex Lovech heeft aanvaller Ivelin Popov een opmerkelijke opdracht meegegeven om zijn levensstijl te veranderen. De pas negentienjarige speler moet zo snel mogelijk trouwen.

Popov staat in Bulgarije bekend om zijn uitspattingen binnen en buiten het veld. Het laatste incident dateert van vrijdag, toen de spits na het maken van een doelpunt gebaren maakte naar het publiek. Daarnaast wordt hij steeds met andere vrouwen aan zijn arm gesignaleerd. Litex denkt dat Popov zijn wilde haren kwijt raakt als hij gaat trouwen.

'Ik denk dat de club gelijk heeft', is de reactie van de spits op het bevel van de clubleiding van Litex. 'Ze willen dat ik me op het voetbal concentreer en een huwelijk helpt me waarschijnlijk om wat rustiger te worden.'

'Ik weet dat ik een moeilijke jongen ben, maar ik wil dat verleden achter me laten. Ik wil mijn twintigste verjaardag vieren als een getrouwde man. Mijn huidige vriendin is er aardig en slim. Ik denk dat zij de vrouw van mijn leven is.'

'Stojkovic zette Ferrari op naam van blinde'

Dragan Stojkovic ligt zwaar onder vuur in Servië. De voormalige vedette en huidige voorzitter van Rode Ster Belgrado wordt verdacht van fiscale fraude op een wel heel pijnlijke manier.

Stojkovic zou een Ferrari hebben gekocht en die op naam van een blinde vrouw hebben laten registreren om te kunnen profiteren van het belastingvoordeel dat gehandicapten hebben om vaak dure, aangepaste auto's te kunnen kopen.

De bond voor invaliden spreekt schande van de truc van Stojkovic en zegt bewijzen te hebben voor zijn bedrog. De voormalige Joegoslavische international (85 interlands, vijftien goals) ontkent in alle toonaarden.

'Die buitengewone auto is niet van mij. Ik heb er al zes', probeerde hij zich er grappend van af te maken. 'Ferrari's zijn mooie wagens, maar slurpen mij een beetje teveel benzine.'

Zigic verkozen tot Speler v/h Jaar

Nikola Zigic is gisteren in Servië verkozen tot Speler van het Jaar. De boomlange aanvaller (2.02 meter) maakte afgelopen zomer de overstap van Crvena Zvezda naar Racing Santander.

Bij Crvena Zvezda, het voormalige Rode Ster Belgrado, had hij vorig seizoen een belangrijke aandeel in de dubbel. Zigic scoorde elfmaal in de competitie en was tweemaal trefzeker in de gewonnen bekerfinale tegen OFK Belgrado (4-2).

Zigic kwam met Servië en Montenegro uit op het voorbije WK in Duitsland, waar hij de eerste treffer in het duel met Ivoorkust (3-2 nederlaag) fabriceerde. Dit seizoen staat de 26-jarige spits op vijf treffers in de Primera División.

Geeft maar weer aan hoe dom ze soms bij voetbalzone kunnen zijn. Crvena Zvezda is de letterlijke vertaling van Rode Ster. :X

Het is nog lange termijn, maar wellicht komt er één competitie in voormalig Joegoslavië (naar het voorbeeld van de Adriatic League in het basketball: http://www.adriaticbasket.com/).

The idea of a Balkan Super League is once again a hotly debated topic all over Ex-Yu countries and among football fans. First there were some timid and quiet voices, who brought up that idea a few years ago. It was mentioned in Sarajevo, then in Belgrade and now the main role of promoting this idea have people from Zagreb. Now there is a growing interest in that idea from various sorts of people. The latest to voice a promotion of a Balkan Super League is Zdravko Mamic, vice president of Dinamo Zagreb. He told the Serbian daily "Blic", that he is one of the most passionate supporters of an idea, that JadranSport promotes since it's very existence.

The "skeleton" of the League should consist of members of the former "Big Four": Crvena Zvezda, Partizan, Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split. A meeting of officials of the biggest football clubs from the Ex-Yu countries will take place in January 2007 in the Turkish tourist resort Antalya, where the teams from Zagreb and Split will have their winter preparation camps. Crvena Zvezda will have their preparations in the nearby Cyprus and Partizan will be in Dubai, but both Serbian representatives of the "Big Four" will have their officials in that perhaps historic meeting.

Blic: Zdravko Mamic, the vice-president of Dinamo Zagreb has been the most concrete and passionate supporter of the idea of a Balkan SuperLeague and the team from Zagreb has shown the biggest interest so far.

Mamic: I'm sure that it would be an interesting and a quality League and believe me, this league is our future. We can't escape from it! I think that it's a very good idea and it will become reality very soon. A couple of years ago the Scandinavians have started with their Royal League. Soon the Ex Soviet Union countries will form a similar Super League. So we should be the next. But it will take us a long time, because we're aware of what is waiting for us during the period of organizing it.

Blic: When could this League become reality?

Mamic: Within the next 10 years, because it could become very expensive. When all of the countries become economically stronger, when we all join the EU and when the borders between us go down, then we will have a good competitive structure. If the champion of that competition receives a direct entrance into the Champions League group phase, then we will have a real football spectacle. We should have a "real" competition between the teams. I'm against a competition, which is played for nothing. The league should be an elitist competition between the best!

Blic: What are the problems?

Mamic: It's too early for the start of the league, because there are still many nationalistic orientated people, that could cause many incidents and ruin the matches. The other thing is, that we have to be cautious with teams like Varteks, Kamen Ingrad, Borac, Mladost (A), Zrinjski - teams which are the "fundament" of the football in our respective countries. With the existence of a Balkan Super League they would most probably be "dead". We have to find a solution for them.

Blic: Soon you'll play a friendly match against OFK Beograd in Antalya?

Mamic: For a couple of years now I'm talking about organizing friendly matches between Croatian and Serbian teams, which should be like a "rehearsal" and a preparation for the Balkan Super League and for our fans. We always want to play against Crvena Zvezda and Partizan and we would like to defeat them. I hope that in Antalya we will have a good meeting with officials from the two big Serbian clubs and that we will have positive talks about the Super League. We will see where we are at the moment.

It's not a secret that many football fans in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Macedonia in the past fifteen years speculated how a team would look like, that would unite all players from all Ex-Yu republics. How strong would that team be and would it be able to win gold medals, European or even World Cup glories, of which we all dream of. Therefore we at JadranSport.org together with our friends and partners from the Former Yugoslav sports press have decided to give it a try and vote the best squad made of Ex- Yugoslav players for the year 2006.

With 3 votes out of 6 the Serbian national team goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic won the Press Poll for Best Ex-Yu goalkeeper in 2006. Despite having a rather disappointing season at FC Nantes, the editors and journalists from Kurir, Nogomania and Radio Tivat voted the 23 year old Serb into their best eleven of 2006. Stojkovic won with one vote ahead of Shaktar's Stipe Pletikosa, who was voted by Nogometni Magazin and Makedonski Sport.

Central defenders:
Nemanja Vidic (SRB - Manchester United), Robet Kovac (CRO - Juventus Torino)
Undisputed and without any real competition, Manchester United's "solid as a rock"- defender, 25 year old Nemanja Vidic, received all 6 votes from all editors and journalist from our Ex-Yu sports magazines as best Ex-Yu central defender of 2006. Nogometni Magazin, Radio Tivat and Makedonski Sport all agreed that the Croatian Robert Kovac was the second best Ex-Yu central defender. The expereinced 32 year old Juve player deserved the journalist's call up with his very fine performances in Italy.

Left Back:
Ivica Dragutinovic (SRB - FC Sevilla)
FC Sevilla's Serbian defender Ivica Dragutinovic received 3 votes in his favour and beat opponents such as Olympique Marseille's Slovenian defender Bostjan Cesar and Bosnian international Sasa Papac (Glasgow Rangers). The 31 year old also had some fine perfromances in the Serbian national team, while he already was a provider for two goals in Serbia's EURO 2008 qualification campaign

Right Back:
Nikolce Noveski (MAC - FSV Mainz 05)
27 year old Macedonian international Nikolce Noveski received the same amount of votes (2) as Croatian international Darijo Srna, but due to Srna receiveing even more votes on a different position (right midfielder), Noveski made it into the Best Ex-Yu team 2006 as a right back. Desevedly so! The FSV Mainz 05 player impresses with steady and uncompromising performances and is considered as one of the best Bundesliga defenders.

Central Midfield:
Niko Kovac (CRO - Red Bull Salzburg), Dejan Stankovic (SRB - Inter Milan)
With 35 years, Croatian international Niko Kovac can be described as a veteran player with a huge amount of invaluable experience. But despite his age, he is still the most important player in the Croatian national team. Niko also proves at Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, that he is still one of the strongest Ex-Yu defensive midfielders and was therefore voted by 3 sports magazines into our final selection. There is not much to say about Dejan Stankovic's 2006 performances at Inter Milan, except that they have been excellent! He was voted onto more than just one position into the best Ex-Yu team of the year 2006. We decided to let him be positioned in the central midfield.

Left Midfield:
Hasan Salihamidzic (BiH - Bayern München)
Dejan Stankovic received more votes (3) for this position, but Bayern München's Hasan Salihamdzic is a true left winger and therefore a better choice for this position. The 30 year old Bosnian was voted by Radio Tivat and Makedonski Sport. He seems to get better with his age and just recently secured a 5 year contract with Italy's Juventus. Hasan will now have the chance to prove his value in the Serie A from summer 2007.

Right Midfield:
Darijo Srna (CRO - Shaktar Donetsk)
Darijo Srna received votes from almost all of our magazines and above that also on all kinds of positions. Currently a right defender at the Ukranian giant Shaktar Donetsk, the 24 year old Croatian "allrounder" is probably best positioned on the right midfield flank.

Strikers:
Edurado Da Silva (CRO - Dinamo Zagreb), Marko Pantelic(SRB- Herth BSC Berlin)
Dinamo Zagreb's rising star Eduardo da Silva received 4 votes from all Ex-Yu sports magazines and was ahead of all other strikers in our poll. No wonder! The 22 year old youngster was simply awesome in his matches for the Croatian national team last year. The currently two best Serbian strikers Marko Pantelic and Nikola Zigic received equally 3 votes and therefore both became second best strikers in JadranSport's Press Poll. Nevertheless we need to decide for one of them and we chose Pantelic for his outstanding record of 10 goals in the first half of the 2006/2007 season in the Bundesliga.

Slaven Bilic (Croatian national team coach)
A fantastic start into the EURO 2008 qualifying camapign with the Croatian national team secured 3 votes for Slaven Bilic in JadranSport's 2006 Press Poll. As a participant of the 1998 World Cup success in France, Bilic was voted by "World Soccer" as most promising youg head coach. Bilic had no fear in bringing fresh blood into Croatia's national team and this paid off immensly, especially when Croatia beat England with 2:0.

Oekraïne heeft weer oog voor Levchenko

Evgeniy Levchenko heeft een uitnodiging ontvangen voor de nationale selectie van Oekraïne. De 29-jarige middenvelder van FC Groningen vertegenwoordigde zijn vaderland één keer eerder.
Op 20 november 2002 had Levchenko het nationale shirt om de schouders tijdens de uitwedstrijd tegen Slowakije die in 1-1 eindigde. Sindsdien kwam de middenvelder niet meer in aanmerking voor een selectie.

Levchenko komt sinds het seizoen 1996/1997 uit in het Nederlandse betaalde voetbal. Zijn eerste broodheer was Vitesse, dat hem verhuurde aan Helmond Sport en Cambuur Leeuwarden. Vervolgens speelde hij voor Sparta Rotterdam en FC Groningen, waar hij bezig is aan zijn tweede seizoen.

Geen idee. Het niveau van deze wedstrijd is overigens veel minder geworden de afgelopen pakweg 15 jaar. Het was één van de derbies. Qua beleving is de wedstrijd echter nogwel erg groot.

Er waren inderdaad ongeregeldheden na afloop van de derby.

Rode Ster verloor voor de eerste keer in 11 jaar thuis van aartsrivaal Partizan. Het werd 2-4. Het verschil op de ranglijst is door Partizan nu teruggebracht naar het nog steeds aanzienlijke aantal van 9 punten.

In Kroatië won Dinamo door twee doelpunten van de door PSV begeerde Eduardo Da Silva met 2-1 van rivaal Hajduk.

Juventus schijnt overigens interesse te hebben in de door jou zo bewonderde Zigic. Trezeguet gaat waarschijnlijk van de zomer Turijn verlaten, Zigic en Crouch zijn de namen die hem kunnen opvolgen. Ook de Spurs zitten achter Zigic aan.

Dusan Bajevic kon de spreekkoren niet meer aanhoren tijdens Rode Ster Belgrado-Vojvodina Novi Sad (0-3). De coach van de thuisclub verliet nog tijdens het duel het stadion en werd door de clubleiding ontheven van zijn taken.
