Is this the commentator who used to work for Setanta....? He's CRAP!!!!

:ajaxscarf.gif: :ajaxscarf.gif: :ajaxscarf.gif:
He doesn't seem to be a football commentator. Rommedahl (very well known Danish international) is apparently Dutch and the linesman is a "touch judge".

Great goal from Rommedahl as I'm typing this btw...

Nice way to finish...3 -3 .....Suarez from the spot!

STILL the same old thing: When Ajax go FORWARDS they are exciting and successful....but when they TRY to hold on to the ball, this meaning that they end up passing backwards...they are CRAP!!

Let's have a fine system in place Mr Jol....hit 'em hard in the pocket if they pass backwards.

ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK

Rommedahl's got to stay....he seems to be the 2nd half sub we need!!! He's so positive....going forwards.....just forget tonight's crap pass!!!

Only saw the second half. Agree with the defensive problems. We looked very dangerous in the last 10 minutes and were unlucky not to have had a goal or two. One great save on the line and Suarez unlucky on the cross where he was lunging at the ball.

Agree that it was a bad pass but it still shouldn't have ended up in the back of our net. More of the blame should go to the Ajax player who left their man free to run in and score.

*LOL* That was a fucking dive. But who cares. 3-3 was a fair result, all in all.

Nice enough friendly, I have to say.

Our defence still looks poor we need a big central defender from somewhere.

Sorry Menno...he was clipped twice, and when you're on the move, a little tap makes you fall. It was a penalty!!!

This friendly made very clear that we do need another defender. Atlético got their goals extremely cheaply. Alderweireld, Wielaert and Steks all had their 'fatal' fuck-ups. I know that Oleguer was injured, but we need another defender. What we have now is not enough, and not good enough.

It remmembers me last season game against Slavia in Arena, when Suarez dives in penalty box and then saves the game at the death. :smile-ajax.gif:

Lucky Ajax at it again . Didn't have the opportunity to watch the match , but 3:3 vs. a club with the firepower of Atletico Madrid doesn't sound too bad on the face of it.

Just going to throw in my thoughts after watching this one:

- I know it's a broken record, but but a big strong central defender (or hope Atoube is it). Wielaert and Alderweireld aren't going to cut it. You'd think they'd at least position better with van der Wiel and Vertonghen at the attack, but even in this game they couldn't slow an attack, that's our biggest weakness. Granted they aren't going to be up against Deigo Forlan and Kun Auguero every week in the Eredivisie, but I can't understand why this hasn't been an area improved on yet.

- Aisatti provided some good balls, but man he seems fragile. I hope he can avoid any prolonged injury this year and I'll feel much better about our chances.

- I think Suarez and Dario make a good partnership upfront and hope they continue to get better together.

- Kennedy and Rommedahl: we only need one, but it seems neither is consistent

Decent result against a good team in a game that didn't matter, I guess. I'm feeling more optimistic and hope we can just avoid another disappointing season.

And since I didn't see any reply about it, I could be wrong but I think what was around Vertonghen's chest (and a few others and the end), was a device for monitoring vitals like heart rate. I've seen them on athletes before, although it doesn't seem like it's during matches.

Yeah, they normally do that towards the end of the pre-season campaign in a friendly, just to test the level of fitness.
