A little disappointing to squander some clear goal opportunities in the 2nd half. Pressure kept up and it was clear that Twente just were too weak on the ball to mount anything credible in terms of scoring opportunity. Defense was very strong, balls into the box were easily dealt with and Poulsen was around to mop up anything that got through the midfield.

Player Ratings:

Vermeer (7) - hardly troubled at all, one moderately tough save to make and his kicking was better than average
Blind (7) - kept his head in the game and provided the outlet for passing down the left side
Moisander (7.5) - solid defensively and a really sweet goal
Alderwiereld (7.5) - really locked down the penalty area today clearing everything that came his way, reminiscent of the best Italian defenders (Happy Birthday also)
van Rhijn (7) - solid on defense and came forward well though his crossing was a bit mixed
Poulsen (7) - rock in the middle not letting anyone get free from the midfield
Eriksen (7.5) - best game in some while, good decisions on the ball and his free kicks were dangerous
de Jong (5.5) - weakest player on the pitch today, very few touches and not terribly involved
Fischer (6) - mixed bag some very good plays on the ball but some poor decisions about when to pass
Sigthorsson (6) - seems to be rounding into shape finally
Schöne (7) - best of all the players on the front line, very dangerous on the ball
Boerrigter (6) - got a couple of chances but couldn't convert
Hoesen (NR) - really not involved coming on late

We take them one at a time now, this the first one and lets keep on the march. The season is in our hands and we don't need anyone to help us out. Forza Ajax

De Jong was our weakest guy, Sigthórsson was kind of alright, Eriksen had a good one, Fischer is still struggling.

I thought Poulsen was really good, by the way. Perhaps he would have deserved a 7.5, just like Toby and Moisander.

Yeah, Poulsen was really awesome.
I am relieved after the Steaua-Ado-AZ (and Roda before..) games..
