WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of great performances today and FdB deserves a real big prop for getting this team ready to play. Even when they went down to 10 men on a very weak call by the match official that should have never been a card at all they looked the more threatening team. Players that we all ragged on over the past matches came up big time. We saw some real Ajax football in the first half and maybe this is just what is needed to keep this run going!

Player Ratings:

FdB (7.5) - had a game plan that finally called for some attacking football, very few back passes

Cillessen (7) - really never bothered all that much and kicked the ball well
Dijks (7.5) - a real threat on offense, did less well on defense but steeled up in the last half hour
Viergever (7.5) - always in position and kept cool when the team was a man down
van der Hoorn (7.5) - same quality as Viergever
Veltman (8) - made some good interventions all through the match and went forward quite well
Mr. Irreplaceable (8.5) - just an outstanding match today, pass to set up Milik on the first goal was great and he actually was strong on defense
The €50M Man (7) - weakest of the midfielders, really needs to speed things up when he has the ball
Klaassen (9) - two well taken goals and great overall play, co-MOTM
Younes (8) - always a threat one v. one and the short cross to Klaassen was spectacular
Milik (9) - not just the goals today but his hold up play was outstanding, I thought for sure he would come off when the club went down to 10 but he showed exactly how a center forward needs to play in that situation; co-MOTM
el Ghazi (4) - probably a bit to harsh since both Yellow cards were very weak calls but you need to stay on the pitch to score goals
van Rhijn (6.5) - would have been great if he had scored the fifth goal but did just fine coming on
Serero (6.5) - played well in the last few minutes of the game

Still just a point behind PSV and a journey to Tilburg to take on Willem II is on the docket for next weekend.

I always wait for your ratings but agree joint M oM and Gudelj was superb. When he was sent off I have to say el Ghazi had been our least effective player thus I was about to say put Muric on. They played very well , even with 10 men and despite the ref.

AZ Alkmaar have a promising striker called Vincent Jansen. But I hope he won't end up at Ajax, let him go to PSV, AZ players never become great for Ajax, I doubt that will change any time soon.

Frank de Boer seems to be charmed by Janssen though.

Milik is just as good and we have Zivkovic and Dohlberg in the wings. el Ghazi is probably better as a striker than a wing player as well.

Not to mention the young and promising Kaj Sierhuis!

I watched van Rijn closely. The way of defense was horrible. Lack of pace, lack of determination. What happend to this lad last years is a big questionmark
