I understand that Cassierra will start on the left and El Ghazi on the right, but we have no subs to replace them on the wings.

We really should've at least taken Cerny.

not that it's any consolation but Zivkovic played out on the wing when he was on loan last year and Sinkgraven likewise at the beginning of the season for FdB.

I am fearing that as well. Back to square one - using midfielders ad forwards as wingers - Zivkovic, Sinkgraven and Schone.

Well what do I know. The team is at least playing lot more attractive than De Boer did in 4 years.

Also, I just noticed that the league starts this weekend and our first game is on Sunday.

On the other side, PAOK also have injuries, Jairo de Macedo da Silva, Ergys Kace, Efthimis Koulouris, Charis Charisis are all doubts, while Dimitrios Konstantinidis, their right back, is out injured

Ok 2013-14 Uefa CL qualifying round is interesting, PAOK drew away to Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv 1-1 and lost 0-2 at home. Metalist Kharkiv were disqualfied for a scandal previously investigated, so PAOK were through and played FC Schalke. PAOK drew 1-1 away to Schalke, but lost 2-3 at home. But then again Ajax aint no Schalke

I still don't understand what the big deal is about the 'loss of Milik'. It's won't affect Ajax's scoring chances. Provided they sign a decent striker for the long run.

He scores goals quite easy, that's all.

In the Dutch section we agreed that Dolberg at the age of 18 already has some aspects in his game that Siggie and Milik miss and will probably never develop.

I remember it was a crazy game with a lot of strange moments and also with Panthessalonikeios Athlitikos Omilos Konstantinoupoliton (= PAOK) missing a penalty on Stekelenburg.

Saw the Ajax goal from last week again and I noticed how important Viergever's run through their midfield was. There was a PAOK player marking Dolberg and he had to give up that responsibility to track Viergever. Viergever's run essentially opened up space for Dolberg to shoot.

Yes that is correct his 'loopactie' / walking action created a free player near the box of the opponent.

Happened also a couple of times in the first half but then El Ghazi being selfish or Klaassen / Riedewald / Dijks not giving a good pass prevented Dolberg scoring at least 2 or 3 goals.

I tweeted 10 of the starters including Klaassen, Dijks, van de Beek, Riedewald, Bazoer, Cassierra, El Ghazi, Tete Cillessen, and told them to go into the game as if they are the team of 1995/96. Yeah both Westermann and Viergever play.

El Ghazi has been kicked out of the team because of his performance last week so indeed the line-up #Ajax is Cillessen; Veltman, Westermann, Viergever; Tete, Gudelj, Riedewald, Dijks; Klaassen; Dolberg, Cassierra.

I'm just not used to this, so I'm in slight shock. The last coach who tinkered with our formation was Co Adriaanse. FDB for example would've sent the same 11 as last week.

Whatever happens at the end of the game, I will say this - Bosz definitely has balls of steel and appears to -
1. punish players for bad performances
2. has an idea about multiple formations and
3. change formations to suit the players and their form

So, who's the right wing? No one? Will Bosz go in a different approach than the ajax standard 4-3-3. Gamble if it doesn't pay off. And any way why play defense ahead, since we need to score at least one goal tonight. I guess he want's us to survive the first 10-15 minutes when the home team will come hard on us with the support of the fanatic home crowd.

I suppose that El Ghazi being that selfish last week even had a negative result for the team. So we did not play with 10 against 11 but with 9.5 against 11.

It is normal that you kick a guy like him out of the team and with our upcoming backs running forward I expect more crosses to our strikers than when on paper it would be 4-3-3 including El Ghazi.
