I think he is working out now and will be with the team on Florida.

Just realized that when you play Blind and Frenkie next to each other, we give up 3 goals. Happened twice this season.

Well I enjoyed the game even though it didn’t end the way we wanted. At least we were good enough for that level in both matches. It’s a big improvement from the EL final, or the CL group stage matches against Real Madrid from a few years ago.

Agree with you Tom ,I dont fear anyone in the next round.

Well indeed especially in the home match you should be able to win and take already a two goals advantage.

Perhaps a confrontation against Real Madrid will give us the best odds.

This is a really tough one to deal with. Ajax do not have a traditional defensive MF. I think things would have been worse with Schöne in the lineup as he is not nearly as quick a passer as Blind and not any quicker (both are really too slow for the MF against this level of competition).

One of the problems as I noted in my match notes is that ten Hag does not rotate players. To expect Wöber to play well against a team such as Bayern with only spot duty is laughable. He needs to see more action in league matches. If Blind is expected to play in the MF then he too has to be rotated in that position. How long can Tadic go without getting a rest????

Wöber's Red Card was deserved but interestingly, van Dijk had the exact same tackle the night before against Napoli and only got a Yellow Card. there is no VAR in the Champions League and I'm sure van Dijk's Yellow would have been upgraded to a Red.

As with Cruijff, I too would like to see Ajax take measure of Madrid. Ajax did poorly against them in the group stage under de Boer but this current team is FEARLESS.

EDIT: I just saw that Tagliafico was awarded the third goal. It was called an own goal during the broadcast.

This team genuinely is fearless and you could see that on some of the Bayern players' faces. They expected to come here in some good form, kick the ball about and go back with a win.

I just wish we could've kept our heads for the final 10 minutes, but it was incredible to see us fight and pull level. This was a good lesson for the kids. I just hope that this 'lesson' doesn't cause us to face a Man City in form in the next round and see us kicked out.

To win this championship, you have to beat the best. It doesn't matter whether it's in the first stage of the knockout round or the finals.

EDIT: Actually I think the chance is 25% because Man City also cannot play Lyon who finished 2nd in their group. They can only play one of the following: Ajax, Schalke, Roma, or Athletico. I would love to see them play Athleti!!
