Well we were playing Atletico's reserve team essentialy, and their season starts 3.5 weeks after ours, so let's not get carried away. But it was a decent Ajax performance.

The defence wasn't wildly troubled, but with the exception of three routine potentialy catastrophic Stekkers blunders they looked pretty solid.

Midfield totally ruled, played the Madrid boys off the park, and as we know, you can only beat the team in front of you.

K-J didn't score but played very well I thought. Much better performance from Kennedy, and even Rommedhal looked OK.

All-in-all, 5.5/10

We need another left sided midfielder or outside left. Colin is a right footed defender playing at left back and Urby is still mainly an overlapping left back.The left flank is a potential weakness.Would like to have seen
Goossens given a few minutes last night.

Having only 1 fit striker is not enough either. When KJH came off we had no other striker to send on.

Arsenal will be a real test . Looking forward to seeing us live again.
