New Players for Ajax

Great relief last night when he was signed. We still dont have a real RW, no 6 or LB

It is still going to take 2 more summers to mop up from Mislintat. Akpom ,Avila and v d Boomen will probably all still go out on loan next summer. And of course Kroes hugh mistake ,Klaassen and Berghuis are contracted to 2027 when both should have been released.

The squad should be good enough to challenge PSV and Feyenoord for the top 3 but we have a hugh problem in Heitinga. He should be sacked this week before he can do further damage.The man is clueless as a coach.

The Keizinga situation needs to be sorted out in the next couple weeks.

From memory, ETH doesn't do great with using youth as well. But he'd still come out better than Heitinga. I hope.

The club promoted Steur, Bouwman, and Bounida to the first team. They will train there and still play in Jong Ajax matches. This is exactly what the club should be doing.

I doubt that ten Hag will be coming back to the club. Heitinga will be given the chance at least until winter break.

An article on Showtime summing up the summer transfers makes interesting reading.I agree with the article. I dont think Kroes did a bad job with selling players and has lowered our salary budget.Jaros,Itakura and Dolberg are good signings but I question Mc Connell,Moro and Gloukh.

We lost Hato and Henderson and now have only 1 LB and no quality no 6. With Traore gone we have no RW as Berghuis is more an attacking MF.

Moro and Gloukh are good prospects but Moro is a LW and not needed. Gloukh is supposed to be a no 10 but gets played at LW. We do have plenty of 8's and 10's and Steur and Bounida need to be fitted in.

A RW and not Moro and a quality no6 and not Gloukh should have been signed. Mc Connell is unnecessary we have young DM like Johnson and Verkuijl breaking through.

The squad is now unbalanced and having a weak coach does not help.

I would agree, I guess the idea was to sell Taylor and have a MF something like Gloukh - Fitz-Jim - Mokio/missing #6.

This is in the toilet now because Taylor at CMF doesn’t seem to be compatible with Gloukh at #10 (so far) and they are not prepared to bench Taylor.

OTOH I don’t really believe you need to be over 30 to be an effective DMF, which is what the AS article implies. I don’t think Henderson was that good for us apart from a couple of games here and there so happy to wait and see how McConnell does.

Lastly, Owen Wijndal… our only LB… in the Champions’ League. Don’t think this will end well.

Japanese fullback and ex Arsenal player Takehiro Tomiyasu is joining on a 6 month contract but performance related as he is recovering from a bad knee injury. If he gets fit he will be a good player and a vastly better Rb than what we have.

Arsenal fans seem to rate him a lot. I'm not sure if there's an option to extend if he does really well over the next 6 months.

Talk of bringing in a LB and no 6 on loan but they will cost money. Mc Connell cost us nearly 1.5m and he is no better than Jong Ajax standard .Jaros cost 1.5m and Heerkens 2m and he is not as good as Reverson.

I would rather not get anymore on loan although an experienced no 6 is needed but we cannot start paying 2or3m for a rental.

We need to sell before getting anyone. Mc Connell, Berghuis,v d Boomen are not going to get playing time and even F-Jim wont .Taylor needs to go as Steur already looks better and Mokio should get more games in MF

With talks of Argentinian players coming to Ajax, including Julio Soler (left back) And Guido Rodriguez (Defensive midfielder) I Find it exciting. I love having Argentinian players, they have this grinta approach and such a feisty attitude. I am thinking of Lisandro Martinez, not so much for the likes of Nico Tagliafico or Magallan or Rulli or even going back as far as Rosales or Mariano Juan or Gabrich ( the last two were flops). Let's see how it goes.

Maximilian Ibrahimovic 19 son of Zlatan is signed on loan from AC Milan for the rest of the season and an option to buy of 3.5m He is a left winger and will train with the 1st but play at Jong. We do seem to have a few left wingers so lets see what he is like.

Not sure why we got Ibrahimovic Jr as we have a few options in the spot. Assume we sell Godts this summer if Ibra Jr is decent.

Ajax seem to be signing NEC's 18 year old striker Paulo de Silva ,top scorer in the U19 comp. He has no contract and chooses us because ,he is a fan of Ajax and Feyenoord dont have a Jong side in KKD .They offered more money.

Nothing on any new no 3 or 6.

Seems we are going to sign another RB ,Brazilian Joao Clemont from Santos on loan with an option . We now have Gaaei,Rosa,Tomayaso,Alders plus Reeger who can play buta t LB we have the useless Wijndal with Rosa as back up but he is a RB .Tomayaso can play LB but probably wont be fit until March.

Nothing heard from Ajax by Santos so this Brazilian may just be yet another paper rumour. He is actually a Santos reserve! We need a no 6 of quality but I doubt we will get one on loan .Some nondescript German from Hoffenheim is mentioned but he hasn't played since May.

I hope we sign nobody as I dont trust Kroes or Beuker's judgement on signings .Weghorst Traore and Henderson were ok but they were experienced proven quality .The rest of their signings are on a par with Mislintat's.

17 days left before Kroes leaves ,utterly useless and clueless TD . 4 years since Overmars left and we have had useless amateurs as TD since and they have reduced us to a shambles with poor signings.

There’s no point buying players in this category. They are essentially rejects from similar level clubs and there is no reason to think they will be any better for Ajax. Basically all of our transfers in the last however many seasons have been like this and only one or two have been worthwhile.

I don’t understand why they keep repeating this pattern and expecting different results. There seem to be rumours about Cruijff having his eye on some Spanish league rejects so I’m not optimistic he will do anything different, personally.

If they really want to spend money it makes more sense to buy good players from smaller clubs like Feyenoord and PSV do. But Ajax always gripes about them being overpriced. I guess they prefer wasting money gambling on rejects than paying up front for players that are proven in the eredivisie.

Oleksandr Zinchenko 29 year old Ukraine LB is joining on loan. Still an Arsenal player but has been on loan at Notts Forest but not played much . He is a quality player and in a different class to Wijndal. He can play no 6 but Ajax are looking in Spain for a loan by the sounds of it .

Cruijff has also said no to Clemont the Brazilian kid . Think Jordi is taking charge already even though its 14 more days before Kroes goes.

However, now Xavi is in the frame to be appointed by Jordi Cruyff at Ajax. That is exciting!

No sign of a no 6 or Zinchenko but by the end of next week we will have just 13 league games left of our season and should we invest millions on loan players who may go in the summer. I would not sign anyone else but make do. we lost 2points v GAE due to poor finishing not a crap no6 .

One concerning thing is we have got rid of 4 1st team squad but how many more will leave as it will leave us short of cover. Currently with Berghuis and Weghorst injured we have just 15 fit seniors left plus teenagers ie Bounida,Bouwman Steur Konadu and Mokio. Of the 15 Gaaei,Wijndal,Fitz-Jim and Edvardsen can go and a decent offer will see Sutalo leave . That leaves us short without any signings. Its a shambles but only 1week left of Kroes

No real progress with Zinchenko is reported this afternoon . My quote of only 15 fit seniors ie non teenagers, can rise to 17 with Weghorst and Tomiyasu but my main comment stands we really should not bother with loan signings as they will cost a lot and will they settle quickly into the side. Henderson signed in January but did not really settle until the following season .

We are after a 26 year old Spanish right winger from Alves Seems a nondescript player ,Edvardsen's standard and could cost 7m ,Birmingham are in talks so lets pray they sign him
