I'm going to Volendam (of course) for beer and herring at The Dike, and hopefully a nice game of football, but I don't give a flying fuck about the KNVB Cup, to be quite honest. And I'm quite sure that the Ajax team are feeling the same way, although they'll never admit it, but mark my words: it will be a piss-poor Ajax performance, because they're all thinking about PSV already.

Speaking of PSV... I love it that AZ play PSV in this cup round. That's great timing. Ajax don't really care about this midweek fixture: if I could live with KNVB Cup elimination at the hands of one Eredivisie side, it would be Volendam. For AZ and PSV this cup game is more important than it is for us, no matter how you look at it, for the simple reason that they're playing each other. AZ vs Ajax or Ajax vs PSV would have been a more important fixture for us, too, in this very same cup round.

I think PSV, in particular, will take this cup game seriously. They blew it in the Champions League (against Olympique Marseille), they suffered a very painful league defeat at NEC... They can't afford to crash out of the cup, suffering their third defeat in a row - and then travel to the ArenA. AZ and Ajax can really push PSV into a crisis - and PSV are aware of that (it also makes them dangerous, by the way).

Looking forward to Volendam. It's been a while.

I would love to see a lineup consisting primarily of youth team graduates or guys who played significantly with the youth team.

And for that team to play stylish soccer and win.

That's not too much to ask, is it?

It seems the only change from Sunday's squad is Alderweireld in and KJH out. Not sure whether Martina is in the squad!! He ought to be along with Goossens .

Jezus..... horrible. If we play like this against psv, we loose 0-5.

0-0 HT the only stream keeps freezing so I have not been able to watch anything. Hopefully it may show the 2nd half.

A midfielder at centre forward and a kid out of the youths with 20 mins of reserve footy behind him does not inspire confidence in scoring.

I've yet to find a good one and usually resort to ESPN Soccernet or UEFA.com for Eredivisie and European games.

Not sure about live commentary as such but Radio 1 (available through this excellent site http://www.nederland.fm/) has regular updates on all the games. I normally have this station on for league games as well if I can't find it to watch anywhere.

Oleguer subbed because of injury. Now Vermaelen is injured, but cant be subbed because we had already 3 subs.

1-0 loss what crap. Only saw last 20 mins and that was bad enough.

We should have played Anita Schilder Alderweireld Martina and Goossens. All we have now are more injuries and some knacked players before PSV.

I agree and was hoping we would play more young players. I think we needed to avoid injuries more than a loss.

I'm not surprised we lost, I just hoped we could have done it without adding to the injury tally. I would have placed the Dutch cup last on this year's priorities going into the season. Winning the league 1st by a long shot, UEFA Cup 2nd (well actually getting some proper defenders I would put highest). It would have been nice to do well in the cup, but I don't think it should have been at the expense of the other priorities.

With all the injuries coming into this came, and the (lack of) importance towards it, I think the result is pretty bad, especially as they are in defense, which has been one of the biggest problems.

if Oleguer and Vermaelen won't play against psv and az, it will be a miracle if get at least one point.
