Well that is it, the season is now officially over. This was again a pleasure to follow with you guys in this magnificent board for foreign Ajax fans. To all the people who make this possible: thank you so much, you do a great work to make Ajax more accesible to us non-dutch speaking Ajax fans. I would just like to say that this season we had to go head-to-head with a team that had better individualities, except in center defence, as PSV is. We were able to top them in two matches by good tactical decisions and our players being on the top of their game for those crackers. De Boer's work can't be underestimated as he again managed to right the ship when it mattered, and we again had a fairly regular end of the season performance. Madness season starts again, who knows who will stay and who leaves. My only wish for a reinforcement is Marco van Ginkel to inject some needed dynamism into our midfield. If some of our key players do leave, then we also need to think about replacements.

A rather pedestrian win over Groningen who played a rather chippy match. Mediocre play by the starting midfielders in the first half and things improved with Serero coming on for de Jong in the 2nd. Nice to see Denswil get a run out in defense and he did not disappoint.

Player Ratings:

Cillessen (7) - stopped everything that was sent on frame which is what is expected
Blind (6) - a couple of really bad back passes marred what was a decent game overall
Moisander (7) - solid play as he has shown all season
Alderwiereld (7) - nice play; was this his last in an Ajax kit?
Poulsen (7) - solid defensively again today and didn't slow up the play on offense
Eriksen (6) - very average play
de Jong (5) - pretty much absent (maybe had two touches) and justifiably subbed off
Boerrigter (6) - didn't create a whole lot
Sigthorsson (6.5) - should have had at least one more goal off of a Serero pass
Babel (7) - decent enough play and maybe his last for Ajax
Serero (7) - did quite well coming on and it was disappointing to see his two passes in the box not dealt with better
Denswill (7) - very good positionally and adept on the ball; only question is whether he is strong enough to deal with big forwards
Hoesen (7) - nice goal and showing good ball skills

A fitting conclusion to a fine season. Props to FdB for keeping the team focused all season long and getting the 3rd straight title. He will again face some rebuilding as some players are destined to move on. However, there appear to be some very nice players waiting in the wings to move up to the starting 11.

a comfortable half for us and we won at half pace .Good to see Hoesen score and Serero looks lively should get more playing time next season if both Siem and Eriksen leave. Very impressed with Denswil ,this kid should not be playing at Jong Ajax level again.

So thats it I quess the sales now start at our club and I am working on coming over August or Sept to see a live game.Will sort it out once the new fixtures come out.

Thanks for all your company during the games this season. It really is magic when watching on a computer to communicate with people from all over the world who like me love this very special and beautiful club .

Well, another season has come to a close -- cursing, moaning and cheeriing; moments of despair culminating in the elation of another championship season -- going through it together for another year -- it wouldn't have been half as good without the pleasure of doing it together with all of you -- thanks to everyone here, and thanks to the keepers of the site.
