I was thinking the exact same thing. @SaddlerIan if someone was to tell you at the beginning of the season that Ajax would be in the semi finals of the Europa league, you would have laughed.

Ok, here's another question; If, at the start of the season, you were told that Ajax were 2nd in the League AND in the semi-finals of the Europa League.....would you class that as a successful season, or would you prefer just one of them...making note that 2nd place means starting in early August, and not reaching the final means "nearly good enough"?

I would say it's good considering Ajax's chances in the Europa league

If we win the Europa Cup it will have been a successful season but winning the title still means success to me.

Blom always lets physical teams kick Ajax around. I'm surprised we didn't get Kuijpers but it probably wouldn't have made a difference, and Feyenoord will win their remaining 2 games anyway.

It's been a reasonable push and our football is a little better than last season—no real complaints about how the season turned out (given the talent in the squad) from me.

It were 15 home fans that needed treatment after the smoke bomb from the psv fans.

I'm going to wait to give my views on the season's success or lack thereof until after all the matches are played. The club have 10 days to prepare for Lyon as the Dutch Cup match is next weekend. Let's hope all the players with knocks and tired legs can get their energy back.

Well, I'd say second place (i.e. CL qualifying round) is the bare minimum with this squad, and represents neither a success nor failure for the season.

Reaching a European final (for the first time in many years) would constitute a "good" season, where as winning the EL would make it a "great" season.

Just my 2 cents...
