A new year, a new manager, same players, and a classic home match against Feyenoord. What better way to start off a Sunday morning (at least in the US; afternoon for those of you across the big pond). Dolberg and Sinkgraven still out from long term injuries. Our new Argentine LB will probably get the start.

Five points adrift of first place but a healthy nine point lead over our Rotterdam rivals. Ajax also have the best goal difference in the league right now.

Probably his doubts to return to Feyenoord yes or no had nothing to do with money.
Just the fact that coward Robin is afraid to start his comeback with a big defeat in Amsterdam seems to be his reason to slow down the negotiations.

But anyway, good to have players like him back at where they start (technically that's not Feyenoord, he is from the Excelsior youth academy).

It is good for the Eredivisie to have both Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Robin van Persie back in the league.

Feyenoord are playing rugby and that miserable Kuipers is letting them get away with it.

That was a nice cross at the end by Veltman, Bradley Jones couldn't handle the ball properly.

Very tight first half. Feyenoord doing a good job of clogging up the midfield and Ajax have not figured out how to penetrate. Both teams had excellent chances to score in the final five minutes. Onana with a great save to prevent Berghuis from scoring and Kluivert's put back was headed away by van Beek. I suspect one team will make a defensive mistake and concede a goal but it could also stay 0-0. Interesting that Ajax seem to go down the right side most of the time maybe Taglifico is still settling in at LB.

As expected, a physical 1st half. Each side with a good chance at the end of the half.

Berghuis nearly scored but we then had 2 chances,not much before that.Tagliafico looks a decent buy.

The tee shirts of V Hannegan was because he has cancer. Nice touch that Ajax wore them
