I still have bad dreams about the match where Vermeer played his worst game ever in goal.

I am looking forward to watching this match.Heitinga has gone and although I dont think much will change I do think Grim can only be better.

Well they are playing much better today and are unlucky not to have scored at least one goal. The corner kick by Utrecht was textbook and not much Ajax could do on defense as there was a good pick by Haller that allowed the Utrecht defender to get a free header on a perfectly delivered ball. I hope Ajax can rebound as I think Utrecht are not great on defense. Edvardsen was fouled a couple of times and not given the call. Makkelie is turning into an EPL referee, letting players get away with a lot.

Agree we are playing much better and should have had a goal or 2 by now.Not much we could have done with their goal .

Did think the goal would inspire us to come back but thought we were a bit flat after that. Should have made the subs 10 mins earlier. We deserved a point but nothing is going right at present. Need to bring in a quality coach in the next week and get some good back up staff. Grim was discussing subs with the U19 coach at the end .

I did enjoy it a lot more than any game so far this season but of course feel fed up we did not get anything .

Two goals off of absolutely perfect free kicks and Ajax go down to defeat in Utrecht for the third match in a row. My dreams of an Ajax match without Davy Klaassen seeing a single minute on the pitch were shattered when interim manager Grim subbed him on in the second half. If any game was crying out for a creative player such as Bounida, this was it. Ajax played much better today and were well organized. Several great chances in the first half were squandered but that's what happens when a team is in a fragile state. On any other day, Ajax probably gets a draw.

Player Ratings:

Pasveer (6) - helpless on the two goals
Rosa (5.5) - just a bit above average
Sutalo (6.5) - had a good game
Baas (6.5) - same as Sutalo
Alders (5.5) - if you are small you better be as strong as Roberto Carlos, Alders is not
Regeer (6.5) - had one really bad pass but otherwise looked decent
Taylor (6.5) - some very good passes setting players free
Oscar (6) - I don't think he is worth the money Ajax paid but did dance free to get one shot on goal but scuffed it
Edvarsen (6) - put in a strong shift as always
Weghorst (6.5) - unlucky to have a nice goal called off
Godts (7) - great goal but maybe he should have take a shot instead of passing to Weghorst on what was a good chance in the first half
Klaassen (5) - maybe I see things differently, but the team was not nearly as fluid when he came in, he should never play a minute
Gaaei (5) - no improvement over Rosa
Bounida (NR) - time for a prayer
Moro (NR) - same as Bounida, though he did create one moment of danger
Dolberg (NR) - same as Bounida and Moro

International break coming up and then Excelsior at home followed by Benfica in the Champions League. If Ajax are to hire a new manager right now, they better make sure they get the right one for the job. Grim would be an adequate caretaker to see out the season.

It was better than under Heitinga but agree Klaassen brings nothing . Gloukh should have been replaced by Bounida ,what purpose is served by giving him 5 mins.Gaaei ,like Klaassen is a waste of space. Why not just put Alders to RB which is his position and get Jetten to play a few minutes as LB ,he is Jong's regular in that position.

We need a defensive coach and one who can coach free kicks and corners as we have let in loads of goals like today.

This was easily more enjoyable than watching Keizinga ball. There was definitely more calmness on the ball and we were not running around like headless chickens. Bring back Bogarde to work on defense.

I thought the 2 subs Klaassen and Gaaei were wrong and instead I would’ve brought on Bounida and Dolberg earlier.

Young Alders is already leagues better than Wijndal.

Still pretty weak on attack IMO. Godts was our best attacker, which is not a compliment for the rest of the team. Our goal should have been an easy save but the Utrecht keeper flapped at it with the wrong hand for some reason.

I also thought we might sneak a goal after Utrecht blundered the 3–1 but no such luck.
