Another game against a lower ranked opponent but Ajax have struggled against these sides.

Reeger not fit so Mokio at 6. Rosa at RB and Zinchenko LB so hopefully no more Wijndal .Another hard game and can we actually perform in the 2nd half

Overall a comfortable win and a fine night from our 3 Belgium lads .Mokio had a good game at 6 but tired in the 2nd half .A bit more like Ajax football in the 1st half especially.

Klaassen as ever invisible and very worrying start with Zinchenko going off injured ,hope its not too bad. Set up for an important game next week v NEC

Finally a match where I didn't have to sit on the edge of my seat in the second half waiting for something bad to happen. Very solid game at both ends, marred only by the Sutalo own goal at the end of the first half. Some very nice goals and Ajax attacked well getting the ball into shooting positions. A couple of centimeters here or there and Ajax might have had a couple of more. I finally get to say that Mokio was outstanding and he needs to get this kind of consistency into his game for every match. Othe than the pedestrian efforts of Klaassen every other field player was quite good on the evening. Ajax draw even with Feyenoord on points and also picked up three on PSV who lost to Volendam yesterday (I don't think PSV will suffer the same kind of collapse Ajax did last season as the points difference is too high).

Player Ratings:

Jaros (6) - OK, but never really challenged to make a tough save
Rosa (6) - held his ground on the right and did not let anyone dribble past him
Sutalo (6.5) - quite good other than the own goal
Baas (7) - solid performance
Zinchenko (NR) - took a blow to the leg at the third minute and had to come off, hope this was not a serious injury
Mokio (7) - great opening goal, yes he did make a good saving play on Serhuis but should not have let the striker get ahead of him, also had some really fine passes
Steur (6.5) - another solid match
Klaassen (5) - Fred Grim's favorite player was simply ordinary, we all can see it, why can't the manager?
Bounida (7) - really nice on the ball and creative with his passing
Dolberg (6.5) - great assist on the first goal, hade a header go off the upright and called for a push when he finally put one in the net
Godts (7) - have to say that he was looking up more today and saw players who were in a more dangerous position than he was and he got them the ball
Wijndal (6.5) - came on to do quite well when Zinchenko came off
Fitz-Jim (6) - played the final half hour and was decent
Glouch (6) - came on and was OK but he needs to understand that he can't do much in tight spaces
Weghorst (NR) - nice assist of the final goal of the evening and had a good hard chance as well
Bouwman (NR) - on late

Big game next weekend as NEC visit the Arena (who knew that Ajax - NEC would be a big game???)

Finally an easy win.

Godts looks ok against weak teams because he gets more space and more opportunities to try his dribbles. He still lost the ball more often than not.

GAE had a player sent off at minute 15 because of a stomp on an Achilles tendon. I watched the penalty situation and it was just one of those unfortunate high kicks that caught the Feyenoord player's foot. It was a PK for me but others might feel differently.
