Ajax friendlies

The Ajax channels were blocked over here so I had to watch the match on the Sky German site. It wasn't a great performance by Ajax as they allowed two goals in the first half that were a result of poor coverage. The first looked like a savable ball but Pasveer was not quick enough. The second looked like Rensch was very late in getting back and there was a free attacker. Ajax pegged two back in the second half. The first came off a corner kick and though initially given to Rugani was ruled an own goal. The second was a nice cut back pass by Wijndal to an open Akpom who had an easy open net to shoot at. There was some controversy at minute 60 when Klaassen was shown a Red Card for a foul on a Stuttgart MF. It was not a reckless challenge at all and it appeared to be downgraded to Yellow after some consultation (my German is pretty rusty so I'm not exactly sure).

Not many highlights. Berghuis again was not very good. The passing was much better and playing out from the back was decent. Traore had one very good chance in the first half but the ball was just wide of the goal. Ramaj came on for Pasveer in the 2nd half and Farioli changed almost the whole team at halftime. Rugani stayed on for about 15 minutes and Mannswerk came in to play centerback.

I finally found a stream on the Stuttgart youtube channel but not much to add about the game. Good timing as a few minutes after the end my granddaughter came round.

Was only shown in Netherlands which was a pity as we won 6-3 .Only 10 first teamers played allfor 45 mins .In the 2nd half all Jong Ajax plus Kaplan .

Off to Zeist on Monday and assume some of the Internationals will return.

1-1 v Aarhus with Steur scoring. He Bounida and Mokio played 2nd half and evidently impressed a lot more than Berghuis Klaassen and F-Jim in the 1st half.
These boys are the future and should get some playing time this season.

Beat PAOK 2-1 today ,Berghuis and Wolff scored. This game was on youtube here in uk ,unlike Hibs game, so I watched nearly all the game. Sutalo has twisted his ankle and will be out for a few weeks.
Bouwman played well and Mokio also ,these were the 2 youngsters in the 1st half and impressed. 2nd half mainly Jong Ajax with Pasveer who was poor, Brobbey , set up the Wolff goal, Kaplan and Edvardson nothing games.Alders and Verschuren was decent but Bounida and Steur caught the eye.They must get playing time this season as subs in the lesser games .

About to play Mechelen. Its on Ziggo but for those out of Holland its on Mechelen youtube .2x 60 mins so I wont watch it all.

Watched nearly all the 3-2 win . It was 2 x60mins Only missed 10 mins and we scored 2 goals in that time. Enjoyed the 2nd half more with the younger players. In the 1st half Moro looks ok but is right footed and played on the left . 2nd half Edvardsen ,right footed played right wing and was ok .I dont like inverted wingers at least that is something Ajax was not responsible for.

Mokio played very well but Klaassen and Berghuis dont impress me and neither should be here. Reeger nothing special at RB and a moderate mid table player. With the Israeli lad about to sign ,a new no 6 needed we will have too many MF .Taylor may go but the 3 mentioned above are back ups at best.

Wow, 5-1 win over Celtic. Was on the train so didn't see it. Bouman and Bounida both scored.

No stream in Uk but a fine win.Bouwman Steur and Bounida all doing well in pre season.

Hato not involved tonight ,he is waiting for a move to Chelsea. No stream in Uk but only 2 weeks to the start of the season and Ajax are nowhere near ready. A rubbish striker ,only Taylor is an effective mf, Mokio promising . Sutalo injured and Jong Ajax defenders playing at no 3.

Dreadful performance against Como. Ajax had close to zero chances and Como were always looking to score. Two penalties conceded one by Rosa for a trip and the other by Verschuren with a poor tackle, though I would have liked to see that one in slo-mo as I though the ball was shot before the Ajax defender came in. Other goal was off a turnover and some poor defense. Jetten was way out of position on the left side giving up an open shot on goal. Edvardsson started at left wing and in the second half played right fullback. Brobbey looked disinterested in the second half when he came on. If this keeps up, supporters may wish Farioli was still around.

Caught the second half against Monaco. Not much to get excited about, I think we’re in for another frustrating season, but it is good to see some younger players.

Afraid we’ll probably still see a lot of Berghuis, Traoré, Klaassen, Taylor, Godts etc. this season…

Godts is still doing Godts things and trying to be Messi. He did score a goal though for what that's worth.

I watched the 1st half ,Steur stood out ,he is real class and not just today but I predict he will reach the top. Good work out for Ajax but we need to move some MF out

There is a friendly going on right now against Vollendam. It's on the Ajax YouTube channel. Just watched the first half and Ajax again conceded a goal off a corner kick. ajax hardly threatened the Vollendam goal.

It ends up 2-2 with goals from Carizzzo and Edvardson. One would think that this match would give players a chance to impress and fight for positions. That assumption would be wrong. It was a lackadaisical match with poor passing and almost strolling as if it was a weekend kick about. None of the first team players appeared interested. Appiah was interesting at #6 but he doesn't have much quality. Kasanwirjo had some good runs with the ball from the center back position. Good to see Verkuij back playing as I think he is a talent. I expected much more from Bounida in the MF but he disappointed.

I watched the 1st half and it was dreadful.Carrizo did not impress at all but nobody did. What is the point of a friendly if the 1st team players show no interest

I just finished watching it and was able to fast forward through the whole match. Quite dreadful. This team just cannot pass the ball which is amazing for an Ajax club. I'm not sure they even had a shot on target.
