Jaakke does not seem to have many friends there, does he ?
Who's next then ? We won't get fooled again, will we ? Did you get there on the magic bus, Ko ?

So do you have any other 'target'? In my opinion he is not very good chairman. Ajax is a football club, not the toy factory. We need someone who knows anything about football business. I don't want to see how Ajax is destroying by this guy. I don't want to have Glazer's brother in my favourite team!

I'm 100% with you that Jakke and some others have some explaining to do (and fans who spend a whole load of money following the team around and buying the shirts and shit have good reason to complain) but vandalising the guys car and the like go's way too far. He's a family man I know and frankly where does that sort of behaviour end.AsgAarD_xxx schreef:So do you have any other 'target'? In my opinion he is not very good chairman. Anyway, I'm sure he will be developing a seige mentality now (with his new security escort) so no doubt the offer to meet with 10 fans won't come again....one more possible channel of communication cut there so who's won that one?
Forza Haarlem. HFC Gone but not forgotten!
Actually, Van Eijden is/was the man in charge. He is general director of Ajax NV whereas Jaakke's job is to monitor the directors. It's mostly a ceremonial job and I really don't see what the guy has done wrong so far.
The criticism started when Nuninga and ?? left because they didn't agree with Jaakke. That was sensitive because Nuninga is an ex-player of Ajax 1, but I don't really know why he'll be missed.
I think the supporters need a scapegoat but find it very hard to use Blind for that, so Jaakke is an easy target.

We don't know what happened between Jaakke and Nuninga/Blocks. But... in general: Jaakke is a relative newbie in the club and a lawyer who doesn't know sh*t about football. Nuninga is an Ajax legend (one of the very few football 'thinkers' that Johan Cruyff will listen to), a true football man and an important 'guard' of Ajax football culture.
If those two people get a conflict, I don't see why it would be good for the club if the true Ajacied and football man loses out to the lawyer/newbie and walks out of the door. This is not a good thing. Another Ajax icon f*cked off, reportedly because Jaakke was constantly sticking his nose into technical affairs, which is:
1. not his department, but Nuninga's
2. something he doesn't have any knowledge about
Conclusion: I would love to hear the entire story behind it, but it is in fact a safe bet that I'm not on Jaakke's side in this one. Nuninga is a very calm, knowledgeable and friendly man, who truly loves the club. It really must be one hell of a job to make him pack his things and leave, but Jaakke managed to do it... Congratulations! :pukey:

I don't want to be the "Jaakke fan" here, but in every business it takes time to reorganize, to change processes, to get a clear structure in the organization. I think we should give him that time.
Nuninga is a real Ajacied, that much is true, but fact is that Ajax has been having trouble for years now and the board hasn't done a good job in turning the tide. I have no problem with position changes in the management layers.
One thing is true, Jaakke should leave the technical stuff to the knowledgeable people. I guess no one knows what exactly happened between the two of them.

Van Eijden's follow-up Fortuijn made a great impression at a shareholders meeting today. He claimed to have been on the F-Side since he was thirteen.
The problem is that that was in 1965 while everyone who comes to the Arena regularly knows that the F-Side only started in '76 (there's a huge banner in the stadium).
:D
Honest boardmembers and Ajax are concepts that don't mix well.

The area known as F-Side was there in 1965, it was just that it wasn't full of fanantical hardcore fans. So he could have stood there.Arthur schreef:The problem is that that was in 1965 while everyone who comes to the Arena regularly knows that the F-Side only started in '76 (there's a huge banner in the stadium).

You are right, Cedric, and I think I've asked this before...
Folks, please do not post lengthy Dutch articles in the English Zones of this forum. Not everybody over here speaks/reads Dutch (most of the people here don't, actually), so it doesn't really make any sense. If you think some Dutch-language article is of interest to the community, then please translate it for the others, or summarize it in English.
No copy-pasted Dutch text, please. Thanks.

All the people (and there really were a lot) who were 'sure' that Ajax hooligans cut the tyres of John Jaakke's car and threw mordant all over it, will have to swallow their words: yesterday the 'attack' was claimed by the 'Animals' Liberation Front'.
John Jaakke has more enemies than just the hard core of Ajax fans. He is also a commissioner for GlaxoSmithKline, a major pharmaceutical company. This company is much discussed because they reportedly test their products on animals at the notorious Huntingdon Life Sciences centre in England.
Jaakke has reportedly received several threats from animal rights activists over the years. This was their work. They officially claimed it in the latest issue of their Ravage Magazine ('Havoc Magazine' or something like that) on the Indymedia.nl website.

The Animal Liberation Front and Huntingdon Life Sciences is big news here in the UK. Some time ago some extremists dug up the corpse of the grandmother (I think) of a director of one of these testing companies (I think it was Huntingdon Life Sciences) and have "kidnapped" the remains.....I'm against animal testing too, certainly without question for cosmetic purposes but digging up dead bodies is pretty horid and extreme.

Johan Cruijff: 'Bij Ajax functioneert niets'
14/12/2005 10:24
nothing works at Ajax... they have not followed my advice ...not to find a new chairman inside the club was a huge mistake (translation to be confirmed)
