I wonder if Roda caught the number of the truck that hit them? 4:1 . Ouch . Glad RKC hung on for a draw. Should be an interesting edition of THE CLASSIC next weekend . There must be alot of grumbling in Rotterdam about now.

I don't know how old or how well known this story is but it was new to me so I've translated it. Kind of really sucks, huh?
Extra earnings for PSV due to CL defeat Ajax
Reports that Ajax's defeat in the CL is all bad for Dutch football are partly incorrect: Now that Psv is Hollands only representative they get the money that would otherwise have gone to Ajax.
This amounts to quite a sum: Ajax would have received 45%, Psv 55%, but because of Vermaelen's unfortunate own goal Psv gets to take the lot back to Eindhoven.

Did anyone see the fighting during Utrecht vs Den Haag, by the way... F**king hell. Anybody who's been to Utrecht away with Ajax will remember the group of annoying wannabe-hooligans in the corner, right by the away end.
On Sunday, it went off big time. Den Haag broke straight through the fences and kicked the whole lot straight out of their own stadium. They really had to run.
Tomorrow at the ArenA there will be no travelling Den Haag support, by the way (because of the clubhouse thing, remember).
The bad news is: because of recent incidents Utrecht want to ban supporters of certain clubs from their ground. These 'certain clubs' are Ajax and Den Haag. That would suck big time, especially because the Ajax supporters were quite well-behaved in Utrecht a few weeks ago. No fighting, no damage and most of the 'verbal violence' came from them!

Feyenoord seem intent on continuing their slide down Eredivise. They trail FC Twente by a goal to nil in de Kuip: Touma for Twente just before the half hour mark - Lucius had made a goal line clearance just seconds before Touma's goal.
edit:
Huysegems levels for Feyenoord less than 2 minutes into the second half. Feyenoord begining to exert control over Twente.
edit:
de Guzman fires in a spectacular freekick to give Feyenoord the lead.
edit:
Final score: Feyenoord 2:1 FC Twente

I know that it has been a bad day for us - but hey worse things happen at sea and we are still only 1 point behind the lightbulbs. Keep the faith.
Anyway back on topic - what the heck happened to Groningen today - a 7-1 defeat at Twente?

Yeah, they're doing well. They had a horrible start of the season (European elimination by some Latvian of Estonian team and a 3-0 defeat in the derby against Heracles), but they're recovered and are now 4th on the table.
I didn't see the Twente vs Groningen game, but it's an amazing result. I did hear that it wasn't as much of a walk-over as the scoreline might suggest. The half-time score was 1-1, I believe. But in the latter half hour of the game every Twente shot on target was a goal. The score got a little bit out of hand.
But even then... wow. This one must really hurt Groningen. Twente vs Groningen is a real grudge game. They don't like each other.

Incredible thing discovered by www.eredivisie.pl :D
PSV will win this season's Champions League. Every time when new James Bond was shown in cinemas, dutch team won in CL final.
It all started in 1969/70, when George Lazenby became new 007 (after Sean Connery). That was also a year of Feyenoord's 2-1 win over Celtic Glasgow in Champions Cup. Three years later Roger Moore was a new James Bond, and Ajax won against Juventus. When Timothy Dalton was named a new JB, Benfica lost a final after penalty defeat to PSV Eindhoven (1987/88). Last Champions League trophy won by Ajax was in 1995, when Pierce Brosnan was a new agent. Coincidences? ;)
* 1969/1970 - "On Her Majesty Secret Service" (George Lazenby) // Feyenoord 2 - 1 Celtic
* 1972/1973 - "Live and let Die" (Roger Moore) // Ajax 1 - 0 Juventus
* 1987/1988 - "The Living Daylights" (Timothy Dalton) // PSV 0 - 0 Benfica (PSV won after penalty kicks)
* 1994/1995 - "Golden Eye" (Pierce Brosnan) // Ajax 1 - 0 AC Milan
* 2006/2007 - "Casino Royale" (Daniel Craig) // PSV Eindhoven - ??

But not so much at the ground. I hear that the game had to be stopped for 20 minutes or so to let the tear gas clear after the Fword "fans" rioted in the town :nooo:philippe schreef:a great evening on French TV yesterday : Nancy - feyenord : 3 - 0, great atmosphere :D
