Ajax are still five points down from PSV who ignominiously were booted out of the Beker competition on Tuesday. Willem II comes to Amsterdam on Saturday while PSV host Vitesse. The first team players who were rested last night against Go Ahead Eagles should be back in the first team.

PSV win yet again against 10 man Vitesse 1-0. Vitesse had a player sent off in the 14th minute. Ajax cannot get help from anyone.

2 nice goals and we are comfortably on top.We should go on and win 5 or 6-0.

2-0 at the half and could have easily been 5-0. Willem II are poor on defense.

2-0 at the end and disappointing at that. How Ajax did not put up 6-8 goals against this opposition is troubling. They constantly were dispossessing Willem II in dangerous areas and had some nice passing going on but the final pass or shot was found wanting. As I've noted before this team sometimes is just not clinical enough which can come back to haunt them against better opposition. They didn't have much defending to do at all and only Blind was found wanting on one play when he didn't properly mark his man but the shot went way wide.

Cannot see any reason to give any player more than a 6 or 7 in this match and there was no real stand out for me. Benfica coming up mid-week with all to play for in terms of moving on in the CL. Let's hope the shooting boots are properly laced up.

Hard to keep awake in that boring 2nd half. We had won by Ht and just coasted through the 2nd half like Feyenoord.
Both games we should have gone for goals in the 2nd half and won both by 5 goals.

Was excited after the 2nd goal went in. Then as everyone else has pointed out, the players went for one trick/pass too many and forgot to score more goals.

Oh well. No injuries, were able to sub out Schone early. Now to get ready for Benfica on Wednesday.

Goal differential could come back to haunt Ajax if the club ends up tied with PSV at the end of the season.

Agree with our GD .We should have beaten Feyenoord 5-0 and Willem by 6-0. At present cannot see PSV dropping a point!!! A curse we did not beat Heracles in that 1st game as we would then be just the 3 points behind.We just have to keep winning.

It was also a crazy opening tactic from Willem II. They started a narrow back 3 with a high-ish line. Against a better passing team that likes to play down the wings, that is... risky to say the least.

After 30 min Koster brought on an extra defender and got players behind the ball, which stopped the flow of chances. Game was already over at that point so Ajax looked happy to walk out the rest of the 90.
